Hi sweetie. Do you exercise? You probably need to get out there and move around. Also, you may not eat much, but watch what you do eat (sugars, etc.). It's unfortunate, but some people can eat just about anything they want and never gain an ounce. Others have to watch what they eat closely.
P.S., do not pay attention to the extremely rude comment above me.

There are many things that could be causing it. If you have polycystic ovarian syndrome (little cysts on your ovaries), it can cause you to gain weight; particularly around your tummy. You could have a resistance to insulin, and be converting the sugars improperly. You will need to see your doctor and have blood tests done to determine if this is the cause. You might not be able to process carbohydrates properly, causing the weight gain. Also, if you eat very little, your body is conserving everything you eat and storing it as fat for energy during the periods you aren't eating. You need to be eating three meals a day, but make sure they are tailored for your body type and nutritious. Don't eat fast food, get plenty of exercise, and drink 95oz of water a day. Get exercise that makes you sweat a minimum of three times a week.
Keep a food journal of how much you eat each day for a week. Be honest and don't cheat! Write down what the food is, how much the serving was, how many calories it has, how much fat was in it, how many of those calories came from fat, how many carbohydrates, and how much protein was in it. Then ask your parents to take you to a doctor so you can go over the results with him/her. If there is an underlying medical reason causing the weight gain, you need to get it fixed as soon as possible to avoid complications later on in life.

The reason you don't lose any weight is probably because your metabolism is slowed down. If you are skipping some meals and eating a lot at other meals, you will actually gain weight. The reason for this is because when you don't eat, your body goes into starvation mode because it doesn't know when it will recieve food again. It conserves the food it has in your body, so when you eat a lot at your next meal, you are actually giving your body way more food than your body needs. Thus gaining weight. Try eating 5 or 6 very small portions (of healthy foods) a day. By doing this, your body will maintain a healthy metabolic system and you will lose weight. I hope this helps, if you need further help, you may e-mail me! Best wishes.

Thats it. If you eat the wrong food you gain weight. If you, on the other hand, eat too little energy your body stops using energy to save for worse days. You need to regulate intake and body's use of energy in daily life.
If you are 190 pounds and really want to lose weight, I suggest you get some help from either your mom and/or preferable your physician. Hey sweetie, this is not a matter for a 12 year old to solve on her own! Your whole family can do this together as support for each other.
You will not feel ashamed. Acting is the best way to get yourself on. Take the first step for a better life.
Good luck!

You need a healthy diet with proteins (fish, nuts, eggs, a little chicken or turkey), carbs (good carbs like whole grain cereal for breakfast), some good fats (olive oil, fish, almonds), and fruits and vegetables for vitamins.
Eating just a little junk food won't make you lose weight - junk is junk and it will always add fat. Also, when you eat less your body thinks it's starving and slows your metabolism way down - you don't digest food properly. Eating a normal, healthy diet will make you strong and get you on the way to your healthy weight.
And to do that you also must exercise every day. If you're not exercising, you will gain weight in all the wrong ways.

Contact your doctor if you truly think somethings wrong. DONT go on a crash diet, make your self puke, or any thing else that could potentially hurt your body. For now, make your whole diet organic. TRADER JOES is awesome. You can barely tell the difference between their products and the real deal. Also, get in a walking or bike riding routine. Make a half-hour long route around your neighborhood and go either when you wake up or at dusk. To spice it up a little take a friend or stick your headphones on. If that doesnt work, nutritionists do! So take my advice, and youll be fit as a fiddle.

My mother in law made the same claim, but when I watched her, she would drown her salad with about 1000 calories worth of salad dressing, which of course is 100% fat.
She also drowned her potatoes with margarine or butter, and almost everything she made had tons of fat in it. True, she didn't eat that much, but her caloric intake was very high, and a large portion of it from fat.
Also, I would guess that you're not eating enough fruits and vegetables, raw ones. the more breads and pastas that you eat, the more the stick to your gut, and turn into fat too.
I wrote a book about nutrition and took some classes, and that's my take on it

Its not the food its the cycle of life. You despite how much you think you do, need exercise. Get some freeweights or if you cant then use simply milk jugs filled with sand or water. Start with simple excersises and move up to walking, then try to hike or be outside even more often. Eventualy you will get in the habit of active living.

Do you exercise? Get off the couch and move! If you do exercise keep it up you may just be a big person. I was heavy when I was 12 also but as soon as I got to be 14 I lost all my baby fat and actually became kinda hot! Don't worry things will work out.

It's not HOW MUCH you eat...it's WHAT you eat and if you exercise. If you eat only a lil but it's all junk food then that's not going to help. It's better to eat a few SMALL meals a day than to just eat one big meal a day...and get out and walk or do some other exercises...also it could be your thyroid...you might want to have that checked out too.
