It depends on what SHOP you work in. But if you want a guess-ti-meant. I've made anywhere from $800.00 to $1300.00 per week (not including tips) That varies, some people are Very Generous, and some just don't tip. Most shop owners don't except tips as a matter of Salon Etiquette. I could have made more, but I only worked 4 days a week.

That depends on where you work. Most Private salons pay commission. ( a % of what your total service sales are. Product sales are usually separate.) The chain salons like Supercuts pay hourly plus product commission with the ability to make more on top of your hourly wage. There are advantages to both. The hourly obviously gives a guaranteed salary but shops that work straight commission always have higher prices so the earning potential is in both types of salons. If you are a new stylist I suggest you go to a chain type shop because they provide training to all employees. It is also a great place to get your speed up. The more you can do the more you make.

depends on whether the stylist works for a large chain or corporation vs being an independent contractor. The chains or corporation pays the stylist a commission on their total sales and services. An Independent contractor just pays a fee for renting the space in the salon and keeps all profit above that amount. The difference would be that the independent contractor chooses and purchases his/her own supplies, and the employee of a corporate/chain salon uses what they provide for use.

it depends where you work and how good you are. If you work at the salon at Walmart, you arent going to make as much as a fancy salon.
