Why do older men tell young women they are getting a divorce?

I know this 50 year old retired navy man telling everyone he's getting a divorce. He's on myspace and yahoo personal and a lot of other single sites. He's still married and I think it's unfair to girls.

Why else to get the panties, he thinks that by telling them he is getting a divorce they'd be more inclined to give it up cause he's "not attached", but really their the stupid ones for going along with his game.
