Not accepting Christ into our hearts is the only thing that keeps or sins from being erased forever. Some say that not accepting HIm is blasphemy of the Holy spirit and others say that a complete turn around on Christ once you've accepted Him is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. What we can be sure of though is that Jesus wants us to draw near to Him, he is a gentleman and will not force His way into anyones lives. So if you've accepted Him into your hear then one thing is for sure, you have made the greatest decision of you life.

I suppose in a way that we view 'rejecting the Holy Spirit' as unforgivable, because the Holy Spirit is the part of God which allows us to be forgiven. When we accept the Holy Spirit, we become cleaned throughout. So if you reject the Holy Spirit, you are bascically rejecting forgiveness, and you own salvation. If you were a beggar on the street, would refuse a million dollars freely given to you?

The unforgivable sin is when you sin against the Holy Spirit. It is very hard to do. Most people who worry about this have not sinned against the holy spirit. If you feel a tug in your heart when you hear a gospel song, then you have not sinned against the holy spirit. People who have done this loses the capacity to feel God in any way.

from what i've been told, the unforgivable sin is intentionally turning away from the Holy Spirit -- either not accepting Christ in our hearts, or once we have then shutting him out. Although, I know many Christians who have "gone astray" and turned away and then returned .. so it's a little grey for me too! I'll be interested to see what others have to say!

that's a very common question, keep in mind anything i say will be combated by someone else because everyone has their own opinions, so what I'm about to say is not fact...only my interpretation of the scriptures. I believe that "Blasphemy" is not accepting Christ with all of our heart. All other sins are forgiven, keep in mind this means that in order to accept Christ, you must accept that you are a sinner and in order to lead a better life, you must be willing to listen to what God tells you and then actually do it. (Christ never did anything without asking for some form of action to show faith) If you can honestly say that to God, then all other sins are forgiven. This does not mean that all you have to do is say "yeah whatever, i accept you" and then you can live a consequence free life, that's not it. But if you love God with all of your heart, then you will want to please him, and therefore when you sin, you'll feel a matter of pain in your heart...and you'll want to be a better person. "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" "It is not by actions that we are saved, but by our faith"....have faith, pray about it....listen to God and he'll tell you...and remember, sometimes no answer....is an answer. ;) Good luck and God Bless.

Salvation is the work of God alone! The Holy Spirit has come to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. (Jon16) No one comes to the father unless He draws them. God draws people to Himself by work of the Holy Spirit. To deny this conviction and not accept the plan of salvation would be the ultimate sin. Jesus, salvation. Holy Spirit, working through God. Hope this helps!
