I helped build house's with Habitat for Humanity through my employment. If you've building experience, technical or otherwise they'll use it. I think they're a good orginization to volunteer with. I'm not famaliar with the other you mentioned. If you're looking for a house you can try the Fanny Mae Foundation or Snap.

Neither...it's called: get a job, save your $$ like everyone else, and build your own damn house!!!! What in the world is this type of organization teaching people??? Be lazy and poor enough and someone will build a house for you??? These people (most, at least) have no earthly idea what it actually takes to scrimp, save and maintain a household. Not to mention how good it feels.
