God has no gender. That is a human condition.

I think that God has both male and female aspects, thus humanity being created in the image and likeness of God. However, while I believe that God can take any form that God wishes, that God is the formless, genderless energy source of all life. God is the process of life which is all around us and within us, seen and unseen.

God is normally referred to as "He" out of simple convenience. In the English language there is no pronoun which can properly or adequately refer to God.

That and the fact that the books of the bible were written by men, translated by men and manipulated by early male church leaders in order to promote their patriarchal agenda. All references to female deity were conveniently removed.

First of all the Bible says that God is a Spirit. However throughout the entire God is referred as to "He." When or if you read the Gospels, especially in the Gospel of John, Jesus refers to his FATHER all the time. Jesus said things like "let His will be done..." So the Bible is pretty clear that when it refers to God, its talking about God as a male not female. Hope this helps.

God is what God chooses to be, if God wants to be a woman then she is a woman, if God wants to be a man then he is a man, if God wants to be a dolphin or a bird or a stick of gum that is what God will be.

i don't know it just does not seem right to me, it was probably my upbringing or something because i just don't see it. I mean with all those images in cartoons and movies and stuff of god being a strong old wise looking guy with a long white flowing beard it is like telling someone that Santa Claus was a woman.

If you truly believe in the God of the bible, why would a woman refer to herself as Father.

I believe God is not a man or woman, but more of a spirit, or being that watches over all of us. Being a muslim, we don't view God as a man, because that gives God traits of a human being when he is superior over all of us.

I am still in the process of figuring out my beliefs, but I see no reason why God would have had to be a man... my friends and I prefer to pray to the goddess Julie Andrews, though.

in Islam God/ Allah which i don't think is the same God your talking about because you believe that Jesus is God but any ways in Islam we believe that Allah/God is neither woman or man ... we use man in the Quran so understanding purposes not for literal purposes. like the saying everything is in Allah's hands , Allah doesn't have hands. but its a way for your little brain to understand what he means.
