A second question. Is it more amazing that Moses would have parted the Red Sea or the Egyptian army all died in ankle deep water?

Then again, you can claim that neither event happened.

Something to think about.

Sorry, Sea of Reeds not Red Sea, I agree.
I believe that God parted the Sea as described in the Bible. I asked the question because some one answered a Moses question with "...he walked through a marsh." I don't believe that. If it did, a miracle would still have happened because the army droned in a marsh or ankle deep water. I would consider both miracles, but believe in one.

Both are amazing because God did them!

Moses parted the Red Sea through the power of God b/c he was leading the people away from Pharaoh. The Red Sea was between Moses & The People and The Promised Land. The Egyptians died when the parted water came back together after Moses and The People had crossed. So Moses led the People across on dry land. And actually you can't claim that neither event didn't happen because it did, all you have to do is look it up in the Bible.

We now know that it was the Sea of Reeds and not the Red Sea. It the theory that has been on the discovery Chanel is correct that all of Moses miracles were natural disasters due to the volcano eruption, they also speculated that it could have been a tsunami that sucked back the water in the sea of reeds and then sent back a large wave when the Egyptians were crossing. I'm not sure if it was ankle deep back then but probably not real deep.

There is a disagreement between the Torah and the Old Testament as to whether it was the Red Sea or the "sea of reeds". I know this from watching the History Channel. Furthermore, the latter would be more likely because around that time in history there is supposed to have been a volcanic eruption in the mediterranean sea that could have caused a parting of waters in a Mediterranean inlet and not the Red Sea which is part of the Indian Ocean.

First of all if you look at a map, it is clear that the Hebrews did not cross the Red Sea.

The Sea of Reeds (in Hebrew Yâm-Sûph) is often mistranslated as the "Red Sea".

What most likely happened is that the Hebrews, who were slaves and did not have wagons or horses, walked through a swampy area or "sea of reeds".

The Egyptians chasing after them in wheeled chariots got bogged down in the swamp. They gave up and let them go.

The story became amplified with time as all legends develop (watch that sceen in Finding Nemo for an example).

It is interesting that there is no record or suggestion of the "Moses/Exodus" events in the Hebrew Bible in Egyptian writing (they were notorious record keepers)

Do some research on "manna". It still exists today.

Some of these miracles have explanations.

The bible claims Moses parted the red sea and that the Egyptians died when Moses "closed" it again. So I guess you can say Moses is a mass murderer

Slick50, the egyptians were notorious record keepers, UNLESS the facts were unfavorable toward the egyptians, in those cases, they were simply erased. Pharaohs pictures were drawn over/carved over if the pharaoh did something they didn't like, such as Akenaten and all signs of his existence were wiped out. They were the best re-writers of history ever! Losing the slaves to Moses, then having their troops killed would not have earned a place in the records, it was one of those "erase it" situations. I did see a documentary on this though, and they've remnants of a huge egyptian stable, with lots of chariot pieces everywhere. Very interesting.

The Bible says that he and the Israelites walked on dry land after the sea was parted.

God's Word says they stood on dry ground.

Exodus 14:22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry [ground]: and the waters [were] a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
