Well, I'm not an expert on oem's and so forth, but if you're planning to do an upgrade from win2k to winxp home, it will NOT work. You can upgrade win2k to winxp pro. To install winxp home, you'll have to buy the full install CD instead of the upgrade and delete win2k first.

A full install would be to delete Win2K and then install WinXP. To do an upgrade would be for you to install winXP over win2K, but still keep most of your files. You wouldn't need to delete win2k first to do an upgrade.

Hope this helps

OEM software is sold to computer manufacturers only. To qualify to buy it, you have to buy a piece of OEM hardware at the same time.

OEM software also doesn't come with the same licensing rights that non-OEM software comes with, such as the right to transfer the software to another computer.

A full fresh install is generally better than an upgrade, but if you don't want to buy a new piece of hardware, just go with the upgrade.
