A texan was in charge when this country suffered the most damaging attack in the history of it's existence.

I'd say that gives argument to his point.

Where you're from has very little, if not anything to do with it. I say this as a proud Texan. For the record Bush is not "from" Texas. I would remind your dad that Lee Harvey Oswald was from Texas, so.... there goes that argument.

Which Texan? Like LBJ? Was the country safe then?

With all due respect to your father, no, no, no, no, NO. I have nothing against Texans, but the precedent set by our previous Texan presidents is pretty grim. Look at us now, 2500 soldiers dead in Iraq, bet they aren't feeling very safe.

Um, both presidents "from" Texas (one's claim is debatable.....born in Connecticut, educated at Yale and Choate, and then Harvard with the family compound in Maine doesn't seem very Texan to me but I'm from Connecticut and would prefer he claim Texas as his native state) totally screwed everything up. Let's look at LBJ and his lies and Vietnam for proof of his not being great and then "Dubya" hasn't exactly done fabulous things either.

Wow... No, thats not true at all... saying this pretty much is saying, "Only Texans know how to run a country and everyone else is an idiot."

If he is refering to George W. Bush then I'd say no, b/c by safe he means, we're all going to die in the hands of a complete moron, who's more concerned about taking away peoples rights than getting soldiers out of Iraq.

Bush is a Texan... does that answer your question?

Tell him he has to get out more. He may not believe this, but tell him there are 49 states out there beside his country of Texas.
