My fiance, who is also Muslim, said they are not allowed to date. So he already calls me his wife.

I am a 28 years old Muslim. I have dated 4 women in my life. The longest relationship I had is 2 years. The shortest is two months. Dating are not forbidden in Muslim, but it is strongly advised to avoid it and just straight to get married when you have connect to each other. This is to prevent "all things" gone wrong before marriage,

Its not back to the religion...it backes to their culture..depends on ur bf is from which country and which culture?
u can date as long as u both want and think is need to know each other for getting marry
just i know legally he cant marry u till u become a muslim too

hell, i started dating since i was 11 years old!!
my longest was 3 years and never even got engaged.
so no it has nothing to do with religion. men can date women or women can date men as longas they want.
as long as there's no sex involved before they get married i dont see any thing wrong with that.
