does anybody think presa canarios are good pets or bad?

I remember a news story about this breed of dog a few years back where 2 dogs had attacked and vicously killed a neighbor in an apartment complex. They attacked her with no reason. The owners had adopted a prison inmate and they were all raising these dogs, really weird story. I think I have the right breed. From what I have heard, I would not want one, or want to meet up with one. Here is the link to the story I was referring to. I saw it on TV. It was horrible. The story doesn't identify them as presa canarios, but I think these owners had started the breed or something. I did the google search to find the story for presa canarios and found that link.

Presa Canario dogs are fearless and confident and the breed is massive and strong. With a deep chest and a broad head. The jaws are also very strong. They are incredibly loyal and
will not hesitate to protect a loved one.
These Dogs are very even tempered, stable, extremely intelligent and easily trainable- they even seem to enjoy it.
its a wonderfull dog.

Most definately they can be great dogs. That downside to tem is that attack a few years ago in San Fancisco, so they tend to have a bad name and they are quite big and powerful. However, did you know more people get bitten by smaller dogs (poms, chihuahuas, and shiz tus) athan bigger dogs? But hardly anyone reports small dog bites.

I've never had a problem with them. Any dog can be a wonderful pet if properly trained and socialized.

Any dog is capable of being a great pet if its owners are responsible and even tempered.

I am an insurance agent, and they are on our list of dangerous dogs. We can't write a policy for anyone with one.
