Okay, calling each other terrorists and cruel isn't going to get anything solved. I don't know how many times I must say this, but there is a chance that everyone in this situation has a valid claim. Recent tension in Israel/Palestine started after WWII and the Holocaust when Jewish refugees left Europe and return to their ancestral homeland. It's perfectly understandable to want a land of your own for your own people after the monstrosity they suffered. The only problem with this was that a fairly substantial number of Palestinians live in Palestine. So we have Jews who want a home of their own, and Palestinians who want to keep their home. Fair enough on both parts. Anyway, at one point Egypt went to war with a newly declared sovereign Israel, and after this conflict, new borders were drawn, basically meaning that Israel occupied Palestine. Ever since, several groups who may or may not truly represent the Palestinian people have tried to work towards or fight for a fairer way of dividing the land. There has been a ton of bloodshed on both groups' parts, and I'm not going to parcel out blame on either because both parties are guilty in this respect.
The latest tension between Israel and Palestine grew after Fateh (the leading Palestinian political party) lost control of the Palestinian government to Hamas (a more radical militant group whom the world hates). Because Hamas refuses to recognize Israel's right to exist the rest of the world has cut off monetary aid to Palestine. Israel has refused to work with this new government despite its almost monumental political shift from the conservative Likud party to the more centrist Kadima party, led by Ehud Olmert (after Ariel Sharon was incapacitated). Anyway, to say the least, Palestine is being pitted into what seems like the start of a civil war.
I'm not to say who is horrible or who is great. I truly believe that Palestinians and Israelis have a great many things in common, and maybe one day we'll see a shift towards this way of thinking. It seems to me we all want to be recognized and allowed to live our lives peacefully, and once we realize we have this in common, it will help us end a bloody fifty, almost sixty years. I hope that this helps you understand the conflict, and perhaps will help you realize that the shortsighted namecalling and racism on both parties' parts is not true and that there is a possibility to work towards peace. I do not believe that I know enough, but I do know what I see every day and can respond with that much for you.

I went to Israel as part of the World Youth Choir last summer. I only spent three weeks there, so I still don't believe I know everything about the situation. What I do know is that no one is 'right,' and the situation is a result of centuries of hatred combined with decades of bad decisions.
When the UN gave Israel to the Jews in 1948, there were a lot of Palestinians there already. They had been living there for generations--right or wrong, it was their land.
Ever since then, there have been wars and land disputes (that might have been redundant) that have confused and frustrated pretty much everyone.
But like I said, I don't think anyone outside of the Middle East "knows enough." But I also think that people who do live there can't be unbiased.

In 70 ad the Temple in Israel was completely destroyed by the Roman emporer Titus. In 135 ad the Romans threw the Jews out of their land, dispersing them throughout the Roman Empire. And from that day until 14 May 1948 they Jews were kept out of their homeland.
The Jews started to move back slowly into their land many of them buying the land from the arabs at exorbinate prices.
Eventually after WW2 the General assembly and the United nations voted to make Israel a nation again and give the Jews their homeland back. A homeland that they had stolen from them - they never gave it away.
Less than 24 hours of them being a nation they were attacked by 7 countries, Egypy, Syria, Irac, Iran, Jordan, Lebanan and Libya.
However, as the Jews are Gods people, the tiny newborn nation of Israel not only drove back her ememies but also gained some land. This is the land the Palestinians say is theirs!
They all stared a war and now cry when they lost!
Incidentally, these invading countries were armed with Russian and Chinese weapons as they thought that Israel would lose!
But they cant fight against Gods chosen people, as the Jews will always win, they have a mighty God.

It is not Jews, Muslim or Christianity issue (more than 15% of Palestinians were Christian before establishing Israel but the numbers now is much less). How many Israel people practice Jewish religion? Claiming a land because a religion started in it few thousands of years ago is completely non sense. Think about it as if some people wants to improve their life and other people will pay for it.

I will never agree with violence. But facts are facts. Israel did not exist before. There was a country called Palestine. It has never been fair to take land away from their owners. Its not fair being blaming the arabs of terrorists, when we know who is the biggest terrorist in the world, wont say the name, but starts with "B", finishes with "h". Why instead these jews didnt take away Germany from germans, why did they have to go and screw some others who were not strong enough, very clever, no? Just compare the number of dead jews versus palestinians, who has suffered the most? palestinians do not have anything. Jews want it all. When will they learn to live in peace?

It's an unlucky main issue induced by means of extremists. Israel feels they're with ease returning hearth, Muslims consider that Jews have robbed them in their land. Jews consider that the land was once promised to them by means of God. The Torah indicates documentation of there being an precise fiscal trade for the land. Abraham, the daddy of the tribe is buried there. On the opposite hand it is holy floor for Muslims as good. Most do not see a 2-state resolution, they desire exclusivity. People feel that the Jews simply made up our minds to transport there, however the truth of the problem is they are not more nomadic than some other persons that is been continuously shoo'ed away by means of hatred, slavery, Naziism, and so on. The land was once given again to them in 1948 by means of the United Nations, no longer by means of an arbitrary choice. p.s. They're no longer known as Arabs, they are known as Muslims. Arabs are an ethnic institution, even as Muslims are a faith. Jews are a faith as good, no longer an ethnic institution.

Not really. I just don't understand how the Jews can be so cruel to the Palestinians after having gone through the Holocaust. I thought they'd be more compassionate.

Palestinians are basically killing innocent people in everyday life cause they want Israel's land. They are sending their young 17 years old sons and daughters to commit suicide with Jews and they teach them that if they kill jews when they dieing they will get to heaven. The even wrote it in the Koran- must kill jews.
Israel fight back through the army trying to get to their head people.

ok..... basically, what it comes down to, is that the palestineans are terrorists and hypocrites, and they- and the rest of the world- need to stop believing all the lies they see and hear on TV!!!! cause the israelis are NOT cruel and NOT terrorists, and Israel belongs to the Jews!!!!!!! the Israelis are far too forgiving and easy on the palestineans- especially after all the suicide bombings, the attacks, the deals they broke and their utter lack of morals- especially when it comes to peace, honesty, the value of a human life and HYPOCRISY!!!! notice their preposterous response to the attack on the Gaza beach!!!! naturally, its terrible that 7 civillians had to die, but Israel did a thorough investigation and proved that we are NOT responsible for it!!!! and even if we would've been, why did the arabs go so crazy over it?!?!?!? they do the exact same thing to Israel routinely!!!!
believe me, i live in Israel!!!!
