the kittens need to feed from the mother for as long as possible so they are extra healthy for the rest of their life from all of the immunities the mommy is passing to kitties

Do not attempt to wean the kittens before they are ready. A mother cat knows when to wean them and it usually begins at 8 weeks and is completed by 12 weeks. This is why 8 weeks is the earliest a kitten should leave its mother. It is preferrable that they stay with their mother until 12 weeks of age. You will know when it's time to supplement the kittens nursing with kitten food. You will notice the nursing sessions become shorter and less frequent. Additionally, the mother cat will begin to get up and walk away from the kittens when they try to nurse on her. She may even give them a gently swat with her paw to discipline them. This is when you begin offering kitten food. At first you should mix solid food with some KMR (kitten milk replacement) and make a gruel for them. Their teeth are still not so strong to eat 100% solid food and they don't really yet have the hang of chewing. Providing this mixture will soften the food and get them into the habit of chewing. Once they begin eating solid food, their mother will stop cleaning up after them (mother cats consume their kitten's waste products). This is when you want to show the kittens how to use a kitty litter. Most likely they will play in the litter at first, but they will watch their mother and pick it up very quickly. Again, DON'T INTERFERE with you cat's mothering...follow her lead and all will be fine. Good luck.

The mother cat usually stops feeding her kittens when they are about 1 and a half months or 2 months

If you allow you cat to go outside, even if she is an inside cat, and she is in heat (their version of a period) and she meets a boy cat. YES she will get pregnant.
Usually you can start the kittens on soft food (cat food soaked in milk or water) at about 3 or 4 weeks of age.
The mom will still need to feed them some until they are about 7 to 8 weeks old.
Sometimes the mom will stop feeding them on her own, if they are older than 4 weeks they can do OK on soft food.
Start them on hard food at about 5 or 6 weeks, still let them have access to the soft food.
At about 5 weeks of age I would put the kittens in a large box (or a small bathroom) with a litter box, soft food, water and dry food.
That way mom can go to them and feed them when she feels that she needs to, but they wont be able to nurse her and will start to be more interested in the food.
Hope this helps.

Don't worry about mother cat feeding her kittens. She knows when to stop feeding them too but around 7 weeks look to see if she's still feeding them. Usually around 7 weeks she will start pushing them aside to start weening them but if she hasn't then you could help her out by try to feed them out of a bowl and start this by their fifth week to help the mother cat out. Just don't suddenly take the kittens away before they are conpletely weened, okay.
Best of luck to all.

Why would you want her to stop feeding them. They have to nurse until they are about 8 weeks of age. Your cat will wean them in her good time - about the time they get really sharp teeth and they are ready to eat on their own.
