Go to Toyota, the RAV4 supposidely fits all of your expectations.

If you want something else, have you considered cross overs? AKA Larger, bulkier station wagons?

Stay away from anything that appears to have been driven
off road. Newer vehicles with high mileage are something to be concerned about. Take anything you are thinking about buying
to a diagnostic center and have them check it out. It will cost
you a few dollars, but could save you hundreds or thousands.

Look in the web - and concentrate on models that aren't the first choice of being fashionable. Look for colors nobody wants and so on. And take a man with when buying, you will be cheated less then.

Start with something like Consumer Reports to compare what you want. Then go to kbb.com (Kelly Blue Book) to get an idea on pricing. Then go to something like cars.com, or autotrader.com, or ebay autos, or just google some local car dealers, to get an idea of who has what available.

Good luck!

none of the older models will have good gas mileage, unless you're looking at new models from this year that have flex fuel or hybrid technology
