I live in Thailand, and there is something cooked in the local stores, that when I drive my motorbike by, it makes my eye's sting awful! What is it?

Wow, deep frying chopped garlics! This always stings! And knowing the Thais do use garlic liberally in their cooking.

Hey, it makes my nose itchy - I know what you are talking abt.. I think it is some sort of curry powder or maybe cumin.. wicked stuff, but whatever.. beats the rampant sewer smell that used to fill bkk a few decades ago..

Knowing that Thai food can be pretty spicy it is probably the spices that they use to cook the food.

maybe they are cooking something over charcoal, that always make my eyes sting.
