Just think, Even if the Shroud of Turin is not real there must be some type of physical evidence somewhere of Jesus Christ. We are becoming more advanced in all areas concerning cloning, New organ growth, cell regeneration and many other fields. at some point it may be possible to bring back the dead into a new body. what if that was what we were meant to do. We bring about the second coming and by doing so we validate the Bible and all its teachings. Or we destroy christianity in a single blow.

Yes, I believe the shroud is legit.

No, to the cloning question. Although there is legitimate blood on the shroud, it is to old/degraded to get sufficient DNA.

To those who think the shroud was dated to the 14th century: you need to update your facts. Those test samples were proved to be invalid (peer reviewed scientific journal):

(type in "shroud of turin")

To those who maintain it was a forgery: Why would you simply dismiss the shroud being a 14th century forgery, when we can't even replicate the results with 21st century technology?

I don't think cloning technology has progressed that far, no. The DNA could be too old and... assuming jesus existed, even, just think of how many people have touched the shroud of turin in it's supposed 2000 year life. How would you know if what you were getting was his DNA or one of theirs?

Even if we could do all of this, and bring Christ back to life, would you really want to?

Are you ready to meet face to face with Jesus?

Is your life good and clean enough for you to be sent to the place that you want to be sent to?

How about the other place (where ever that may be)? Are you prepared for that possibility?

Are you prepared to give up all of your worldly posessions, friends and family? Maybe all of your friends and family members aren't scheduled to go to the same place that you are in the books for.

Personally, I have a lot of cleaning up to do in my life, before the end-time comes around.

If you are a Christian, don't you believe that God already has His plan all set up, and in working order?

If you were to change His plans, just because you could, don't you think that God would be really p_i_s_sed off? He probably worked a long time getting everything in place, and in the right order.

What ever your reward that you might receive for altering God's plan, I would not wish to share it with you.

Please don't mention to Him, that you have had any contact with me at Yahoo Q & A.

Even if it was real and we could extract DNA, He would not be the same Jesus that walked the earth 2000 years ago. He would be a biological copy but not in His learnings or His teachings. He would be subject to all the same elements of corruption that we are. It would be nice though!!

too bad the shroud of turin is *not* real, so we can't test your theory :)

Scientific examination of the shroud put its origins around the 14th century, a good 1400 years after jesus died. Sorry -- it's just a clever fake.

I think you've watched Jurassic Park way too many times.

Cloning from DNA isn't really feasable at this point in our lives. And don't worry, Christ will come back. We don't need science to do it.

even if you would bring Jesus back to life it would not be him though. it might be his body but it would not be the actual son of God. if you clone a gay man or a stright man they could be either or but they will not be the same person.

The kind of cloning need in this situation isn't scientifically possible yet.

testing was already performed several years ago for carbon dating. results were inconclusive. it didn't date back far enough to be within that time frame. but obviously the church dismissed this as scientific folly.
