I'm getting married March of 2007 and since I've been with my fiancee I've gained 20 lbs. I would like to lose 35 before I get married, I'm just not sure where to start.

Cut out all white flour, white sugar products. No more fries or fried food untill the wedding. Start drinking lots of water to clean your system and Try getting in as much exercise as possible also.

You have to remember that any diet is not going to work unless you make it a lifestyle. When you get off of it, you gain it all back otherwise. Try a vegetarian diet where you eat lots of fruits, veggies, raw is the best but you can cook some too, and some nuts, walnuts are best as they have the omega 3 oils. Do a lot of rice with a little veggies on it with a bit of seasoning and you have a great meal that is filling without being high in fat. I will list a good site that you can get some recipes for good food that is not high in fat that I have used a lot too. Get the newsletter and you will get more recipes every month. Keep away from the high fats and all of the meats and you will do a lot better and feel better too. More energy and healthy.

Workouts and diets have to work together - no starvation diets will work long term.

The key is (advice from everyone else to me) exercise - sweating, breathing hard, at least half hour per day.

Then you have to watch what you eat as well. I know someone who lost 50 pounds when she quit alcoholic beverages. Sodas, even diet ones, can make you hungrier due to the carbonation, so I've been told.

Lots and lots of water daily will help shed the weight. It seems like a lot to change but make baby steps. I'm starting myself because I gained 10 pounds in one month!!!

Another friend had luck with Weight Watchers. Another friend ate all the same foods but only ate the "serving size" specified on the label, and walked about 2 miles per day.

Good luck! Someone just told me the other day to just start SOMETHING. Even if it's just 15 minutes, in order to get in the habit of a daily routine. Don't forget your water!!!

I found a great way for me to loose weight was to have a slimfast shake in the morning and eat fruit during the day. I eat a good decent sized dinner around 5pm and a snack shortly after that and no eating past 7pm at night. I also do at least 20minutes a day of biking walking or any other activity. I started out slow and increased the time I excersized for and the intensity

I did Slim-Fast a few years ago and lost about 30 pounds in 5 months. It was hard and the first few weeks sucked like hell, but if you can be dedicated to the diet it really does work.

Remember, healthy weightloss is slow weightloss, so dont become discouraged. Make a calander and on the same day each week write down your weight so you can see how much you are really losing. 1-2 pounds a week doesnt sound like much, but after a few months it does add up. Also, finding a workout buddy is very helpful to motivate you to continue to exercise.

Good luck to you and congradulations on your up comming wedding.

www.ediets.com!!!!

I swear it worked for me. I lost 40 lbs & my BF at the time lost 60. I stopped at 40, since I didn't need to lose more. But after we broke up, both of our diets slid and the weight came slowly back on. I know he could have gone from 300 to 180 if he'd stuck to it.
But it can be very hard to do if you don't have a supportive partner to diet alongside you. Do you live with your fiance? If so, you should try to involve him in it. It's not hard and the recipes are realllllly good. I didn't know how to cook before joining, but I learned easily.
Trust me, it can work for ANYONE, it's customized for your needs.

a healthy diet, lots of exercise, and lots of water! you need cardio and weight training in your exercise plan to lose weight and tone your body. Please don't do fad diets, they don't last, you always gain that weight back. And please don't take diet pills, they work at first, but you risk addiction and they are so bad for you, once you stop taking them, the weight comes back with a quickness.

A lot of gyms allow you a trial visit (like a week or so), and you get a free consultation from a trainer. Go for a week and ask the trainers to show you different routines that you can also do at home.

It doesn't really matter if it works for us tell you what Google Weight Loss Plans and try each one for one week. If the results are fascinating for one ( Keep you records on a chart) then go with that one. The best way to lose weight is to sweat. Besides, what if Atkins Diet works for me ( yet my body is PERFECT) but Weight Watchers works for you? Try em all!!

you've got quite a bit of time to work with, so i'll give you my idea of a slow approach, as the first reply said, no refined carbs. a good place to start is with oatmeal every mornig. you should eat 1/2 to 3/4 cup (uncooked) sprinkle some chopped almonds in with them. and a dash of splenda if you can't go without it. oatmeal is very good for jumpstarting your metabolism in the morning. limit your carb intake the rest of the day, especially dinner. don't worry about your choices as long as it's whole food. eat as much whole food as possible. take baby steps as far as cutting back calories. you've got plenty of time. if you lose 5 pounds a month you'll make it to your goal and it won't be as hard to stick with your plan. excercise will help even if you only do 15 minutes a day. any excercise is better than none. walking is good, any tiny bit of extra activity helps. the water is also good. drink as much as you can tolerate (cold) heating up that water to body temperature expends calories. good luck!
