All those other answers are nice, but the reality is that you need to post more information.

What kind of computer do you have?
Include CPU type/speed
Include RAM type/speed
Those are the basics, I am assuming you are just dealing with a normal everyday surfers problem, so I will move on, but it can get deep into the motherboard, hard drive and vid card if you are talking about intense interaction over the net.

Also include the type of connection you have Dialup, Cable, DSL or one of the others.

With that info someone might be able to guide you, with just what you gave us we are just guessing at best.

First off, i suggest that you get Cable over DSL. Everyone I have known to use DSL admits its sporadic at best, and seems to fluctuate in speed greatly. Cable Internet ( which i have) provides a reliable speed and rarely any downtime. Plus its the same bill as my cable provider.

Plenty of great sites on high speed Internet and i recommend you do some research there to find a provider near you. If yo are stuck in a contract, there ARE ways to escape them. Be firm with your demands in breaking of contract, that the service is not up to your standards, is not what you expected or want.

+ Learn how to clear your browsers history. And do that frequently or atleast between usage.
Good luck.

If you are on dial-up then you can't expect much. You can get a program called cablenut which will help a little and spring for the extra few bucks a month for a web accelerator. You can also make sure you have a good phone line. If you have cable or dsl cablenut will also help by changing some of the registry settings to make your connection more efficient.

This could be a number of problems.

-You may have a virus or spyware, in which case you should run your anti-virus program. If you don't have anti-spyware, you should download Ad-Aware from Lavasoft. It's free at www.download.com

-Your internet connection may be slow. Consider upgrading to DSL or a Cable connection

-Your computer may be slow. Delete unnecessary files and defragment the hard drive.

I wish there was a knob to turn up. lol
It depends on your ISP(internet service provider). They can offer you different speeds usually. It depends on where you live too. You may have many different options. Cable is generally the fastest. DSL has multiple speeds. Satellite is flakey. Dialup just sucks.

In general, if you can't upgrade services, try adding AVG Free Antivirus and AdAware to get rid of spyware and viruses. Go to these sites to download them
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5
http://www.lavasoft.com

Also, it might simply be poor computer performance. Delete any unneceesary files, consider upgrading your RAM, and do a defragment (go to start-programs-accessories-system tools-disk defragmenter).

Good Luck!

what DSL speed do you have? i guess it's not lower than 256 kbps?! but don't worry, you can check this out, install this freeware that really speed up your internet connection, this is better than those other freeware or shareware who claimed that they can really boost up your speed, go to: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

you can check your computer system, maybe that's where the bottleneck really originates, either caused by flooded unnecessary programs on startup, or spywares and adwares that might have already installed in your computer system, try to clean your pc with this highly recommende antispyware, go to: http://spywareterminator.com/dnl/landing.aspx

i hope this will ease the congestion in your pc, and may you have a faster internet connection, and thanks for the 10 points, if you find my answer as the best.

Need more information. If you have a 56k or high speed, dsl or cable modem, etc. You could just have a slow computer or have a slow connection.

More info would be needed to diagnose a real problem.

It do occurs routinely or commonly I believe simply an recommendation attempt to name your Network Provider ask why you've gotten a deficient Internet Connection.. Figure it out what Processor do u have to your System possibly it is the purpose why you're having a Slow connection to the Internet... Try to "Defragged" your Files via:Clicking>Start>System Tools>Defragment>then set Comp to "Defragging" Or eliminated all unecessary methods you've gotten Downloaded earlier than... And possibly there are too many Programs looking to Start -up while while you open your PC... Try all the above...adequate Just permit me understand if it really works ..We have the equal issues earlier than I desire you'll be able to Re-solved it too... Just like I do..Goodluck!!!

Really depends on your operating system. Example if your using XP try deleting your prefetch folder, clan up your cookies, temporary ie files, defrag, clean up registry. Those are simple methods. Also I dont know what your using as far as Dial up, cable , t connection, dsl or what not so its hard to troubleshoot the problem.

Install more RAM. RAM between 256-512MB should be fine.
Also make sure you delete the internet temporary files, check your bandwidth. Dial-up internet usually have small bandwidth. Use broadband access is the best.
