borders??? I do NOT understand this reasoning!! Of course,we need borders!! Borders are what defines a country!! Don't YOU have a fence around your yard? And,why do you need a fence?? It is to define your property line from your neighbors! If your neighbor wants to build a four car garage between your houses, and says "well,we don't have a property line,so i'm claiming this land next to your house, to build my garage on". What could you do??? Nothing, if there is no property line!!!

And,say you want to put up a brick fence, because the neighbors dog is always coming to your house to "do his business". You tell your neighbor your intentions, and he say,"Now wait a minute,i do NOT want a fence there,it will interfere with my view".
We NEED boundary lines for a reason!!!

All Native american tribes had borders before the colonization by the puritans.
We had no fences but we all knew where our boundaries were, and if you chose to tresspass upon another tribes territory, you did so at your own peril. The consequences for trespassing were usually forfeiture of your life. Just thought you would all like to know...and they called US savages!

Every country has borders of some sort. Be it a link fence, a wall or whatever. Why do some people think that just because we are called the "land of the free" we need to just chill and be happy go lucky. We are to blame for being so relaxed and having had no strict laws in the past. Our Social Security is about to become extinct... I am working to have no Social Security when I retire! I have a huge problemwith that. May be borders are not the solution, but it sure as hell may deter some from crossing illigaly. We need to do something, because this will not get better on its own.

All boarders should be abolished. They cause nothing, but racism. It's sad that Texans think they are the best, and New york thinks they are the best state. So, tourist beware of visiting different states you will encounter racism. Sadly no one could ever live in peace excepting each other as one. We are all humans, but sadly since race is a social construct that could never happen. We could never walk into a room without distinguishing each other. Thank god for boarders and the construction of "race". Where would we be without the help of excuses of race. Lets see if we didn't tell the people Africans were no different then farm animals to whites we wouldn't have slavery. If Nazis did not believe in purifying their race there would be no step one for fascism. Their would be no conquering, nor imposing civilization upon the native people they call "Indians".Boundary lines are the same as boundary lines among ourselves.

that is the problem with everyone who opposes, the right thing to do.Think back to where your family tree goes back to...when you do the proper studies you will learn to see that one form or another you came from an immigrant family, unless you where born in Great Britain then you are a true American.Borders, walls, fences,Why take more away from what has been taken away already, why do people feel threaten by immigrates, who have they hurt?In history all fences ,walls borders have been knocked down what is this government setting up the future to be like ?The future for you and my kids, think about it,and think about history.

Yes we do!

But only as deterrents. I've seen pics of 10 cars at a time demolishing fences to illegally enter. Whatever we put up, they will bring down.

The answers is militarize the border, walls, fences, troops that can physically defend, and get Mexico to understand NO.

And one other thing. Somehow we have to either repeal civil rights or make it only for citizens. I think the black community down south whose homes and lives are in danger of the oncoming colonization of our country would get behind that one. At least I've heard them in rallies saying they don't discriminate, they force all other people out of their homes and communities in LA.

I say yes to border for the purposes of restricting or limiting the movement of people into or out of the country and requiring the need of passports and visas or other appropriate forms of identification to stay or work in the country. Just as criminal aliens fugitives use the border to offer them a certain amount of protection from U.S. law enforcement authorities and safe from extradition to America.

The people that say we need no border, are the people out to see America dismembered.
If we lived in a perfect world, no borders would be great, but we don't. We live in a very dangerous world, as our President insists on reminding us.

Those people are hippies. Nothing more, nothing less. They live in a fantasy world, where everyone gets along, no laws are needed, and no spaces are defined. They believe in a Utopian world, which is not bad in and of itself, but it is not reality. They need a wake up call, because they are dreaming.

vito194- What makes your view the right thing to do? What makes you so much more enlightened than the rest of us? Your view is no more right than mine is. My morals are not yours. And if you look at it from an economic and legal stand point your view is dead wrong.... something for you to ponder.

Good fences make good neighbors. Been said before.
We have too many people now who will reproduce. Where will their children go? Why continue to add.
Take your troubles home and not to my house I have enough.
We need boundaries for just about everything.

Ok, why do some of you (the Answers Yahoo team) say we should have no borders???? That is your question, right?

Answer: Because they CAN.

Simple: Is there a reason everyone has to agree with you? Would you interfere with the free willing spirit of another American who wishes to exercise his right to express an opinion?

It is quite simple: they can, that is all, period....That was your question, was it not?
