There are two different laws, one in the House and one in the Senate. One is strict, one would give amnesty and virtually unlimited immigration of poor immigrants. (The debate over the numbers that would come is how much of the allowed quota would actually be used, given that the numbers are so high. Essentially it is an unlimited immigration policy.)
However, they have to be combined into one bill before anything can pass. I don't know how likely that is to actually occur.

It's a 3 tiered law. Depending on how long an illegal has been here, whether they can show proof of employment, whether or not they are criminals, depends on what will happen to them. Some are going to be granted amnesty while others will be deported, but allowed right back in. Another group will be deported and never allowed back in. Depending on proof of employment, they will be required to pay back taxes and some other fees.
That is pretty much it in a nutshell. It's still amnesty and it's still unfair to those who have been waiting in line to legally enter this country.

The House of representatives wants to make illegal immigration a felony and not give amnesty. The Senate wants to give amnesty and give the so called guest workers more rights than American citizens.

It's an AMNESTY bill disguised as a "guest worker" program!! Basically,it allows the 11-30 million ILLEGALS already in the U.S.,to BUY their citizenship for $2,000! And,it also opens the door for MILLIONS more to come here in the next few years!!! It MUST be STOPPED!!!!!!!!

Well if you are a liberal or left leaning in anyway it is a comprehensive immigration bill. If you are a conservative or right leaning in any way it is AMNESTY! Hopefully the U.S. House of Reps continues to stand its ground and advocate for BORDER SECURITY 1ST!

The one where illegal immigrants will not be able to come into this country unless they go through the proper channels, instead of sneaking into this country and making us the U.S. Citizens pay for all their medical bills, welfare, and WIC, and everything else they are mooching off this country.

It's called the 'Mexico Needs To Go Home Act of 2006'. The senate doesn't want to sign it, though, must be getting some good dope from Mexico or something...
