I always do! I don't know how to get rid of it.

I try to avoid "The Mall" at all costs. While my family shops, I usually just sit and people watch and most of the time I see larges crowds of morose and sad looking people just shuffling along.

It reminds me of an abattoir actually...all the cattle blissfully heading to the slaughter.

So yes, to answer your question...I get anxious...and hungry.

YES! I have Asperger Syndrome (a high-functioning form of autism). I have MAJOR problems with SENSORY ISSUES-most marked: AUDITORY. I cannot tolerate small children screaming or the general commotion of a large crowd. I started to do better with a form of therapy called "cognitive therapy", which is a process where, over time, working with a therapist, your thought process changes.
I was avoiding the mall and many large places to the point my mother had to take care of many of my needs. When I was finally getting help, I was able to go back to the mall, using common sense. First of all, I never go out into public alone. I also pick my times of day and days of the week. My mom moves the car to avoid going out into the halls as much as possible. I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder along with having AS. This is common. Last Dec. My treatment team decided that they couldn't help me anymore, so I have back-slided. I had a major meltdown at my local mall and nearly hit people. Security was called. It was very scary and degrading. We are desperately trying to get me another doctor/therapist after 6 mos. There is so little help in my area. I hope I not only answered your question, but educated you about autism spectrum disorders. See your physician first and ask him/her about therapy. If they recommend it, consider the cognitive form of therapy I explained. Thanks for listening. Hope I helped.

Sometimes.
Is it the large space or the people that make you anxious?
There are times I have difficulty ordering in restaraunts because of all the people and things going on around me. There is a certain superstore I cannot go to unless I go early in the morning when there aren't very many people there.
I plan to go to these places when it is less crowded. When I get anxious I go home, or find a store that is less crowded and spend some time in there to regroup.

Yes, unfortunately I do. I have mild agrophobia and it's hard to go to crowded places like the mall. If you see a physcian, you can get mild antidepressants that help alot. For example Zoloft. :)

Breathe. If crowds make you nervous then either learn how to cope with it or avoid crowds. If it's enclosed spaces I'd go see a good therapist because being indoors means you don't get rained on.

I do but I have a form of agoraphobia. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can really help, as can valium in the short term. See your doctor.
