1. Atheists can't hate something that they do not believe in. Saying that they hate God would mean that they have some sort of belief in him.
2. People get this notion because they see disbelief in God as a way of hating him... for creating themselves. If you hate God- you hate yourself... I think may be this theory. Because they think that Atheists are disbelievers because of what happened in their lives... therefore, they hate the choices they have made and blame/hate God.
3. See reason one.

I assume that the Atheists believe that God is real, but don't want to be 'disappointed' when they 'find out there is no God'. I believe their souls are taken by the Devil and they can't seem to get them back. I don't hate the atheists and never will. I disagree with them, wonder why they choose to be away from God and other things. I don't think that the atheists hate God, as much as they are going to hate that are simply wrong.
God Bless!!!!

The question that follows this one, as is already evidenced by the theists that are responding is...
Do you assume that atheists became atheists because they were "hurt" by God and/or the church?
Theists can't seem to understand that atheism is not a choice. After you've read enough books, you'll become an atheist. If you don't, you're simply insane.

No, Atheists don't believe in God. How can you hate something that you don't think exists?

atheists don;t necessarily hate god, the just don;t believe in any. we're all raised to believe in one form or another that a being created us all and so forth. over time, people generally become atheists bcuz of everyone else who believe in god keep trying to promote their god as the right one. they may well believe in something just not someone or not everyone else's idea of god. it's kind of a reverse mentality that by promoting god you are actually pushed away from it rather than sucked in. not many people raise their kids to be atheists, you become that way.

No, atheists don't hate God, they just don't believe in him. How I know, I am an Atheist. We aren't bad, we just don't need God, but I respect those who do.

How can that be possible? Since by definition they do not believe that God exists, how can they hate? One cannot resonably hate that which does not exist. Unfortunately for them their atheistic beliefs don't hold water.
I don't believe in Democrats, but...
