You don't have to take a class to become a bartender, in many states anyway. You can train as a barback or something in a restaurant and learn as you go.

That all depends where you are located. I would try searching the web in your local area. Boston Bartenders offers courses in New England but I don't know if you are from that area.

There is a bartending course online - I don't know how good it is.

do a search on "bartending schools" in your area. They usually will run a 2 week type of course.

most of the local colleges offer bartending classes, or you can call your local Liquorboard for info

Visit your local Tips, take the course and you are elegible to bartend and serve alchohol.

You really don't need the class. I started working as one twelve years ago...and I didn't even know the names of any of the liquors. Now I know them all!! Find a small bar that is willing to train you...like they did me!
