I need a roommate to help pay for my mortgage, However, my 110 year old house isn't suitable to have a stranger room with.(I am SLOWLY rehabbing it) My ex and I get along pretty well, but dating others is impossible. He broke up with me after I lost alot of wieght and says he doesn't mind if I date. But it would make things very uncomfortable and I don't want to rock the boat since I am the one who needs help to pay the bills. (joint household bills) We were together for almost 6 years and have been broken up for 1 year, seperate bedrooms. Any ideas. I am in my mid thirties and am looking around, but this is a screwed up siutation.

I think living with your ex is a good idea. Because life throws some CRAZY curve balls and we just have to find ways to catch them.

But I mean, he is your ex and you do have to move on. It has been a year. Maybe when you meet someone he can make casual appearances at your place. You know, watch tv, dinner , etc. But for intimate times you should go to his place. I think it would make an uncomfortable situation for all 3 of you.

The best way for you and your ex is to make such rules like if dont disturb if someone is with somebody. Or put a sign if you have a guest around. That way, no one will suddenly walk into something that they dont want to see.
