Yes, herpes can be transferred through sexual relations. No, there is no cure for the herpes virus, but there are medications you can take to help control outbreaks.
If you think you've contracted the herpes virus please see your doctor, or go to a clinic, right away - and ALWAYS use protection, whether you test positive or not.

There are three different kinds of herpes. Herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) which causes cold sores around your mouth area. Herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2) which is genital herpes. And the last one is herpes zoster (shingles) which is like a rash that you can get anywhere (arms, legs, etc.)
Genital herpes IS transmitted sexually. If you have it or you think you have it, you should worry about passing it to your boyfriend, it is spread very easily.
There are a few medications that can suppress herpes. They can be take daily or just when you are having an outbreak or "feel" and outbreak coming on.
Oral medication:
Acyclovir (Zovirax)
famciclovir (Famvir)
and valacyclovir (Valtrex)
There is even a acyclovir (Zovirax) ointment, but it's not usually recommended.
Unfortunately you can't get rid or kill off herpes, it is a virus and will stay with you the rest of your life. You can get rid of the blisters when you are having an outbreak, but they can and will come back. The only way to control an outbreak is by taking medication.
I've had herpes for about 5 years now (I was diagnosed just after turning 17). It was devastating, but for the most part I've learned to deal with it. Although there is no cure, it is not a deadly STD (like HIV/AIDS or syphilis can be). I'm engaged to a great guy right now, he doesn't have herpes but after having some serious conversations and a lot of questions he's come to understand it. Talk to your significant other about it, and get some good info about it, so you will know how to answer his questions. For the most part people are pretty understanding about it.
I hope this helped! Good luck!

You're kidding, right? Uhh, sex is the EASIEST way to transmit the genital-herpes virus to one another. The best thing is to be tested by your doc... if embarrassed, go to the nearest health clinic.. and, take antivirals.. valtrex.. whether you have an outbreak or not! Yes, there have been recent studies done which concluded that you don't have to have an active outbreak (a sore) in order to transmit herpes simplex. Now, there's the other herpes virus you can worry about too.. it's refferred to as the "granny kiss"... you know, you've seen people with "cold sores".. this, too, is herpes. And, if you have a sore on your lip and perform oral, you can and very well might pass this on to your partner...; in the genital area. So, do everyone, including yourself (especially yourself), a favor: GET TESTED.. and, if positive, take the valtrex! ALL OF THE TIME!!!

I got identified with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 7 yrs ago, when I was still attending college and had a silly one-night stand. I know a lot of young ladies will say this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores round her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/L76ra everything changed.
Not only was I able to remove all traces of the hsv from my system in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a packed restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided me the chance to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/HERPEScure201526OE
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

LOL!...sorry. To answer your question YES it DOES transmit person to person not just because your gay anyone with a sexually transmitted disease can give it to another person either anal, oral, or vaginal. And you could get it when you just touch his genitals and you rub your eyes or put your hand in your mouth or any where else you'll still get it. And yes you must worry about this and get help. And herpes is bacterial so it can go away by treatment and you leave unattended for too long it will become viral, which will remain problem. It will not just disappear. You have to go through treatments to get it maintained to be sustainable.

Simple answer... yes. Sexual contact will spread the disease.
Yes, your boyfriend has to be concerned.
The only way to truly prevent spreading it is the way you don't want to hear: not having sex at all. Other than that, a condom used EVERY TIME might help, but is not a guarantee.
Get checked out to see if you really do have the herpes virus, and do whatever it is the doctor says.

yes it transmits through sex..which is why its an STD.
You need to get tested and then see if you can go on suppresive therapy with medication..there is no single cure for herpes...unfortunately. There are also some vitamins and supplements that will help reduce the flare ups and what not..if you have it...
