Yes we have tragically lost 2,500 men and women, we have suffered the indignations of a small group of soldiers mis treating prisoners and possibly civilians, but overall how can some of these people call for retreat and claim we are losing? We have built more schools, more clinics and more mosques then ever, we have restored the power, water, and waste treatment systems in 90% of the country. We have secured more then 75% of the country. We have trained more then 80,000 secruity personnel to take over their own country and have like 45,000 more in training (need is 200,000 I understand). We have helped them hold two elections that had phenomenal turn out even under the fear of violence. How can you say we are losing?
PS. Not too mention its all be done in a time frame faster then anything like it ever.

We're not losing the war. You've just stated why.
I have a friend over there who is currently helping to train Iraqi Security forces and if anything we need another 5 years before we leave.
Hopefully our next president is as dedicated to these efforts as our current one is!

I don't think that we are losing the war in Iraq. But we cannot win it either. We went in without a clear purpose or plan or goal. All of these seem to be being made up as we go along. Mostly in reaction to the actions of the insurgency. We do not have control.
If the US were to leave now, Iraq would certainly fall into chaos if not civil war. The problem then is, how long do we stay before we can pull out and the country not fall into chaos? The answer seems to be never! It seems to be the nature of the Iraqi society that it requires a powerful leader or leadership to keep all the factions in check. Right now, the US is that power and is really not doing a very good job of it. I think we are in this mess for a long time with no way out other that to just leave !! We are not losing this war but we cannot possibly win it.

We are losing cause our government is lieing to us. I mean this dumba$$ of a President called it mission accomplished after a year, and we are still there. That is why, cause of the over 500 ppl in political positions in Washington, only 2% have children fighting in Iraq. How can you make decisions on a place you've never been, about fighting a war, when you've never served, call it the good fight, when you have the "black motorcade" pulling up to houses everyday to say I'm sorry Sir or mam, but you son/daughter was ambushed and killed. Here's a flag, and we're not even fighting for our own freedom. America is a great country, but we a re not the worlds police to go around telling everyone else how to live life. That's why the UN was founded, but the US has broken off from them and our government thinks we do not need them. We went we freed to people from the dictator, we taught the ones that want democracy how to fight, great. Now let's get home and let them fight for their own freedom, France didn't fight our whole revolution for us, the gave us some troops, supplies and strategies. We should do the same, help but if the Iraqi people want freedom, let them fight and die for it, don't they deserve to be patriots too.

What makes me think we are losing the war?
1. The fact that Iraq isn't ready to take over their own country - talk about no exit strategy! Their personnel may be "trained" but are not dependable - look at their track record.
2. The terrorists [I really don't like the term "insurgents"] are not going away or diminshing. The violence is horrible.
3. Oil production is not back up to pre-invasion levels.
4. Speaking with returning veterans, who tell me things are getting worse, not better - and that they were lucky to get out alive. This is the most decisive factor for me.

You call it a war against terrorism, and unfortunately the war is bringing(incubating) more terrorists. The chaos continues, the war is still being as fresh.
It is lie to say that you built schools, mosques, roads, clinics and others. Physically everybody knows that you destroy more lives, bombarded more houses, demolished(humiliated) more mosques, fill all the clinics with casualties, destroy the power lines, STEAL more oil. You also disunite the people and preparing civil war, so that you can continue stealing oil to enrich your country. You showed to those who unite with you that those who are firing back to you that they are their enemies.
You hold two useless elections that did not give room to whole Iraqis. And still you do not want to withdraw from that country.
What a wonderful freedom (democracy) is this. You people are nothing other than devils, killers, thieves, deceivers.
YEEEES!!!!!!!!!

how can anyone sit there and judge this war if they have no one in there or fighting it. the only people saying we are losing are the people that want to stir of ****. They have no right to say anything because they are not seeing it first hand. My husband has been there 11X's, and people say that there not doing anything but sitting around and not getting anything done. Why don't we turn the page and put there butts over. Yes, i hate this war but you have to stand by your soldiers no matter what. Because they are why your free. Haft of them don't want to fight but they are still there. No one has a right to talk **** about it unless you are the solider they are the only real people that know.
