Circuit training is one of the best ***-kickers out there. For each lift (either upper/lower body), pick 7-8 exercises with a pre-determined weight (for each exercise) that you can do for 12-15 reps. Put them in a sequence, that you know will be challenging. IE...flat bench dumbell, dumbell incline press, flyes or tricep ext. and so on. Try doing the 7-8 exercise sequence 2-3 times through with 30-45 sec rest between each set. You can get a good burn in a short time. These circuit routines are also a good routine for some muscle-growth as well, if plateau has been reached previously.

Yeah circuit routines w/ 40-45 sec intervals between exercised should burn you up real quick, or try doing exhaust sets, switching to exercises w/o pauses

either running or circuit training with weights. Best is actually combo of both.
