No. I think you should have a trainer if you want to make a lot of exercise. Often gyms offer such services. If you don't have the habit to do a lot of exercise per day, you should start with less and augment gradually at your rythm. Remember: It is better to make a little bit of exercise everyday then making once a week a lot of exercise. Also, if your wrist and biceps are aching, maybe you don't exercise properly with one of the machines at the gym, you don't hold yourself properly on the bicycle. Each exercise has a proper position to keep if you want to avoid pain and problems. And don't forget to stretch your muscles before and after exercise! Finally, if it is still aching in the next few days or each time you exercise, see a doctor for that. Once you will have found the source of the problem and once the pain will be past, you will be able to adapt your exercise in order to avoid that again.

Cycling does more than just work the legs- it's one of the best aerobic exercises out there. If you're riding an upright bike and bent over then your weight is on the wrists, that is probably what is causing the pain.
I would ditch the upright and get a recumbent- your wrists will thank you.

Any decent health care practitioner would tell you not to cycle. It's okay to push the human form, I suppose. But how old are you? Remember, what you do TODAY can affect you TOMORROW. Don't make it worse. One day of rest won't kill you. Read a cycle magazine, do light actvities and whip the cycle out when those cramps have receded. There is no sense in playing with matches.

Your body will perform best if you let it rest and recover for 24 hours, hydrate and have a banana for pottasium. It sounds like you are overdoing it, and you need to recover.

Take a break. You shouldn't push yourself to the limit. Do not cycle!
