Do you think that the US will have to come up with some sort of compromise or do you think that our government will unrealistically TRY to deport 12 million illegals? My opinion is that our government will HAVE to come up with some sort of compromise and like it or not MANY illegals will probably get another chance at being legal. I think our border patrol with tighten up and I believe a wall might be built but ultimately I don't think we will be able to get rid of all illegals. What are your thoughts?

Lets keep all opinions PG and no talk of shooting them all in the head or anything like that. They are PEOPLE too!

noillegal- To answer your question...No I don't watch the news very often because I am sick of negativity. However I checked out what you said and they didn't just deport 2100 people in one day. Yes it was called Operation Return to Sender but it was an ongoing investigation mostly targeting illegals who have committed violent crimes and those who have been deported once and came back. It is delusional thinking to think that we will eventually deport them all. As we deport them more keep coming in anyway. It is just unrealistic thinking........

The politicians are not going to do a single thing. They are all talk and no action. They give lip service. Only something drastic will get them to move. If they try and deport everyone that looks like an illegal immigrant, there will be cries of 'racial/ethnic profiling'. If they build a wall then maybe it will also keep out the drugs. But, they don't want that to happen either.

First they will give amnesty to the 12 million new voters they want; but they won't call it amnesty you watch. They might even require a "fine" for them but watch there will be a "low income" waiver.

Second they will get them all on the social security roles so they can get disability as soon as possible. Of course this won't be an emergency because they already have complete emergency services.

Third don't forget the college tuition waivers. Each state will be "mandated" to accept all illegals as residents no state colleges will be allowed to charge out of state fees to those now legally in our country. Mind you if I went to a school in Texas I'd have to pay a foreigners rate, but not them.

Oh and there will be some chatter about closing the border that won't happen, some proposed fines for businesses that employ illegal immigrants that won't be enforced, and the status quo will go on with both political parties asking for the 12 million new votes and claiming the credit for giving them voting rights.

PS....in 20 years we get to do it all over again with 48 million illegal immagrants (if you think that is far fetched look at recent history - for in the 1980's we gave amnesty to 3 million and here we are 20 years later giving it to 12. I just used the same ratio).

First to noillegal, the 2100 illegals rounded off were criminals, and it's just a show put on by Bush to show he is being tough on illegals, but that's all it is just a show, they already knew years ago these people were criminals and here illegaly,Bush wants to pass his amnesty bill and wants people to think he is securing the borders and deporting the bad apples. What they fail to say is that there are thousands of illegals breaking the law by using stolen social security numbers and Ted Kennedy wants to reward them instead of deporting them,What will happen is that once Bush and Kennedy get their way, nothing else will be done to stop the illegals from coming in droves and we will have the same problem again in twenty years, only it will be worse.

I think the physical border will be tightened up and further illegal immigration will be stemmed somewhat, but never entirely. I think the illegals currently in the US 2 years or more will be given the "amnesty" that President Bush says "isn't amnesty." I don't think it will be easy and straight forward for a lot of illegals to apply for the "amnesty" and I think there will be a lot of attempts by many of the illegals to qualify fraudulently (i.e., lie about the length of time they have been here, etc.) and I think a large number of illegals won't apply for the "amnesty" because they will not trust the true purpose of it and will be afraid of being deported when they come forward to apply. As well, many will not want to pay fines and back taxes, and many will not want to learn English well enough to pass a citizenship test. (If fact, I believe many illegals are NOT interested in getting US citizenship - that is just a misguided belief of Americans - they are just here for the money and most never plan to stay in the US forever. They plan to return home, ultimately, once they have enough money accumulated to live well back in their own country.) So, I believe there will continue to be a very large portion of the estimated 12 million illegals currently in the US who will continue to hide in the shadows. As well, over the next while until the reform goes through, there will be a greater than ever mad rush for illegals to enter the country as they will think they need to try to get in quickly now before the border is better secured and some even misunderstanding and thinking they will be able to get the promised "amnesty." Therefore, there will still be many, many illegals who will only be discovered here and there over time as they surface due to things like traffic infractions, needing medical care, trying to get social assistance, committing legal offences and therefore coming to the attention of the justice system, etc. who will have to be dealt with and/or deported one by one, over time. Unless a way is found to truly punish employers who hire illegals, there will continue to be more illegals in the country as they will always find ways to get in if there is work that they will be able to have. Therefore, I feel the major way to stem the inflow of illegals and even force many of them to deport themselves is to crack down on employers, in a major way.

The land under which the United Nations sits is considered land owned by the world. The land any foreign embassy sits is considered land belonging to that country. Sadly, we have no US foreign embassy, we have a state department.

What ever form the passage becomes law, it is guaranteed to be against Americans and for foriegn nationals. The American Citizen will cease to exist and anyone from anywhere can colonize us and lead us to war.

I am very deeply saddened that the Catholic Church has taken side where they no longer respect the soveregnty of the USA, but do Mexico. Mexico's illegal entry laws are felonies with stiff penalties. A Catholic Cardinal says if America does the same as Mexico, which they have sided with and blessed for doing the same thing, one Cardinal says he will violate our laws to the fullest extent. But he doesn't vow to break Mexican law, and more important, he doesn't have to pay for it.

BTW - Senator from Connecticut put in the bill that we can do nothing with our borders to protect them at all without the express permission from Mexico, meaning if mexico says they can cross and we can get arrested for going there, who cares? The American people do!!!

Get authentic. tell me that you are able to not see the border being compromised with assistance from thousands crossing into this united states and trashing the wasteland. Watch Border Wars on television for Christ's sake. look into the information superhighway web site "Border Beat". it truly is going to tutor photo photos of what's happening. Arizona's regulation? i'd stand with assistance from it in each and every element. even if you must admit it or are merely not getting it, the regulation is in position to guard all individuals. that's a time of politics popping out only for votes using mid-time period elections. Your going to be fed a crock on the liberal end of all of it. Do your self a decide on, smart up!

Deport the majority now, and enforce our laws penalizing the people hiring them, and eventually, they will all be gone. We won't have to deport them all, they will leave of their own accord when they have no work.

They will offer them amnesty like they did a few years back. A few will take it but the majority will not. They are living off this country and as long as our nice guys in congress keep up their act, we the public are stuck with it.
