1. Helpful Hints for a successful install of Vista:
a. Backup your data (just in case).
b. Create a new partition of your hard drive.
c. Install Vista on the Partition - do not upgrade your existing XP.
d. Install as directed. (It works quite well).

2. Updates:
They have already added a couple of updates. Use Windows update to retrieve the updates- just like XP.

3. You existing internet connection should be okay.

4. I haven't seen any uninstall tool. The Vista newsgroups on Microsoft say you have to reformat the partition or the drive to get rid of it.

Finally.
Remember it is a Beta version. There will be bugs. There are bugs. If your worrying already- don't do it. Some drivers aren't updated yet. Some software isn't updated yet. Some things will not work perfectly. You'll have to deal with that because it's Beta.

My feedback on Vista Beta:

Please do not upgrade XP to Vista. I guess it should not allow you to upgrade. Install a clean Vista on different partition.

1) Install is very simpler. Just ensure you have enough disk space. Without enough disk space it will not proceed with setup.
2) Some of the updates are already available online using Windows Update.
3) Yes, I am able to connect to internet from Vista. I am using a broadband internet.
4) I have not come across any Uninstall tool for Vista.

As per the news released by Microsoft in May-2006, Vista final version will start shipping to customers in early 2007.

1. I find the install actually easier than XP
2. There are updates and will be espcially once it releases to the public.
3. If you're talking about driver support, I'm able to use the existing XP driver for my video card (only because it's a laptop and there are no retail drivers for it) and other than that, I was able to either have the drivers with the Vista build, or receive the driver through windows update.
4. Haven't use the uninstall feature or have even seen it but Vista is quite a pig on resources so I wouldn't recommend it for older machines.
