Hi. There is no set timetable on the progression; it varies with each individual. Some people may not perceptibly progress at all for a while; for others it may advance quicker. My advice: stay in close touch with your physician and ask him/her about therapy regimens, etc. that will help maintain your stability and mobility. Good Luck. Hope this helped.

My mother had the exact same condition. The progression, as has been stated, is different for everyone. One small bit of information, though... There is a new (relatively) surgery that is available that should help you to retard the condition almost completely. My mother had it, and after about a week, she was able to walk almost on her own, and within a month, she was completely back in business like she had not been for the longest time.
The surgery is not available to everyone, and you are required to qualify for it (whatever the qualifications are, I don't know); however, it is definately something to ask the Doctor about.
Mom went from not being able to walk more than 2 blocks- and that with a walker- to walking half a miler with no walker at all.

I hope this information proves helpful to you.

It depends upon the disease of how long the disease takes to progress.
