My girlfriend is inhibited in the bedroom and cannot seem to relax when we're having sex. She is much more responsive when she is drunk but still recoils after a few minutes, it's almost like she is remembering something and then realizing that she must be inhibited again. What gives? Is this caused by insecurities, or is it me?

For me, it is sometimes that I feel fat and unattractive.
It sounds to me that she may have been molested as a child or a young adult, and she is has not dealt with the issues and emotions... you might want to consider that she needs counseling.

She's self conscience about her body and maybe she thinks that she's not doing things good enough. The reason she's more responsive when she's drunk is because liquor makes you uninhibited. Just keep telling her that she's beautiful and you love the way she looks and that she turns you on. Help her to relax and focus on the two of you and less about if she's doing things correctly or if she looks fat. Remind her that you are there with her because you care about her. Tell her you are attracted to her both mentally and physically. Give her some time, she'll open up.

It could be that she might have been sexually abuse as a child. Talk to her to find out instead of asking strangers what is going on with her. She might not even remember the abuse, so when she becomes inhibited-ask her if you did something to make her uncomfortable, if so work on it- if she says she doesn't know why- believe her- she maybe just inexperinced too- she might have been taught that all premartial sex is a sin and dirty. You really need to talk to her about this. Sorry.

Is she insecure about her body? That can have a big effect on a woman when it comes to being intimate with a man! If you dont make a big deal about it she may loosin up some. I doubt that it is you! Make love to her in the dark and see if she acts different.

Its not you, all women are like this!!! I would say that its mostly insecurity, most are not happy with their bodies, that and alot of women were brought up thinking that sex was dirty, naughty, and nasty. It takes them years to realize how fun and important it can be.

She could be afraid of getting pregnant, but it could also be something as simple as a bright light bulb. Dim the lights and see if that makes her more comfortable.

Could be both. Maybe she isn't totally comfortable with you. Have you tried to talk to her about this? She may also be questioning her abilities as a lover.

Is she on the heavy side? Is she comfortable with her body? Try turning the lights down real low or off.

she may ne intimidated by her lack of experience or if you have too much experience.
she may have also had a traumatic experience somewhere down the line.
