I just hate those police cameras up on the light poles. Now they seem to be everywhere. Next thing you know cameras will be in our homes if we let them.

Funny you mention that. The police chief of Chiago already wants cameras in the homes of felons. Yes we are entering a total police state here in the USA. There are also directional mics in the public areas with those cameras to listen in on your conversations. The justification for these mics is classic disinfo. I have heard that the mics are to triangulate gun shots, yeah they can do that, but mostly they are here to spy on us. But don't just worry about the cameras. State governments are implementing RFID technology into your cars registration stickers. And there are even plans on making a system like Onstar mandatory so basically you will have to "check in" with your state government in some way before you can even drive your car! It is really beyond 1984 what is being set up here in the US, and the national news will NOT tell you its happening.

You have a huge point. It seems like things are getting out of hand. Now on the news the government wants to regulate how much food at restaurants is served on a plate. I don't know about you, but I want whatever I pay for. It is my money. They do not need to worry about by weight or cholesterol. I am a grown adult.
I mean what next?

They aren't police cameras, they are traffic cameras. They are monitored by people in the traffic department. These cameras alert those workers, who can then take action when accidents happen, or when unexpected traffic jams occure.

Some of these cameras are even accessable online. You can watch traffic on your computer, wherever you are.

But to answer your question, no. You're not alone. The country is overflowing with irrational conspiracy theorists. They are usually recognizable by their aluminum foil caps.

Yeah, right. I think the bigger question is what do you have to hide that you don't want the cameras there? I feel safer to know they're around. Only people doing things they need to hide are against them and that "they'll be in our homes if we let them" is just plain silly. First, we wouldn't let them. Second, why would they want to put them there?

Next time you get in a nasty car accident that is not your fault, are brutally assaulted or robbed and nobody stops to be a witness and there are no cameras at the intersection, you tell me how glad you are those cameras are gone.

People hate being watched by the government, but what's the difference if it's corporations that are watching everything you're doing and buying? The government can put you in a cage or kill you, but corporations can make you wish you were never even born! Corporations have way too much power over the average citizen, in my opinion. They control your life in ways you can't ever imagine!

England is even worse... there are neighborhoods the place they have extra closed-circuit cameras on the streets than truthfully human beings... talk approximately paranoid and Orwellian! some human beings have mentioned that they are "ok" with being monitored, because of the fact supposedly they do no longer do something "incorrect"... yet that purely relies upon on who's watching, does not it?

I haven't done anything wrong and don't plan on it, but it bothers me.
Has no one else ever done anything embarrassing? Want it caught on tape? Want the government to know everything you have ever done, legal or not?

Maybe some people should start reading about Hoover. He blackmailed a lot of people and gained a lot of power through his government job and keeping files about people's personal lives.
