First of all he needs to know that his mother going to the bathroom is her own private business and he doesn't need to be in there. My 7 year old son started asking why mommy sat down to pee when he was about 5 and we just told him that mommies and daddies are different and so they go potty differently too. When he started first grade and came home and told us that he learned from one of the third graders on the playground that babies hatch out of eggs we told him the basics of sex so that he would hear the facts from us and not some screwed up version on the playground. His only question was can I have desert now.

If the 6 year old is laughing, then he must be in the bathroom when his mother was using the bathroom. The son shouldn't be in there when the mother is using the bathroom. The father shouldn't allow the son to get in with the mother. It is not appropriate for kids to do what he does.

What is a six year old boy doing in the bathroom with his mother at a time like that? First tell him to stay away from the bathroom, and then explain that it isn't nice to laugh at others.

For one thing, a six year old should not be in the bathroom when his mother is using it. Another thing, he should be taught that it's not right to laugh at his mother for any reason. It's okay to laugh with her, but not at her. Last but not least, maybe it's time to talk to him and let him know that boys and girls use the bathroom differently.
