All shades of browns from pale oatmeal colors to the deepest chestnut colors, the browner tones of golds and ochres, some of the greens with the brown and bronze tones and some of the reds in the clay and brick tones. Hope this helps. I like all of these colors, but it seems like it would need something to add some pop to the room? Just a suggestion. Also, just a note, when using earthtones, natural metal finish accessories look really good with them. Hope this helps.

think of an outside scene in the fall when all the leaves are still on the trees but they have changed colors. every color you see is an earth tone.....brown, green, red, orange etc

All shades of brown, gold, taupe, orange, etc. Just look outside at the earth (minus the grass) and you will find earth tones. They are very warm colors.
