to all of you out there who said "what is going to stop them from breaking more laws after they came here illegally and brok that one?" it seems to me that you need to sit back and think when you have broken the law (oh yes you have) and why did or why didn't you brak another law.

If the illegality of crossing the border was where it ended, probubly not a REALLY big deal but ...it doesn't end there. They come here poor, unenculturated, unaware, uneducated, unhealthy and un many other important things. They don't come here "un fertile" however.
Being in the "Un state" they are in, they don't have insurance, to cover their rather bad driving (many times while intoxicated) and the damage they do after they hit and run, is born by the property owner and or the insurance co. Rates go up, dislike for the Mexicans is fostered and Americans in general are demeaned both by the criminality, as well as the degredation of the lawful process that we usually live within.
I don't know about you folks, but if I conduct myself in such a way as to break the law, I know there is a high likelyhood I will be caught and brought to justice. I have something to lose. The illegal hasn't got much or anything to lose. This illegal thang makes for two different systems of justice; a higher standard for us Americans ...and a lower standard for the illegals. Not a very fair, equitable or workable situation. It has to end for many reasons.

In this day and age, with all the terrorism, it is hardly a good thing to have 12 million people traipsing across our unsecured borders! There are many reasons why this should be stopped, and stopped now! The fact that successive governments haven't given two hoots about it is hardly a reason for not doing anything about it. We don't KNOW who these people are ... we don't know where they are from ... we don't know what they want here ... only yesterday 2100 people were finally deported, all criminals and gang members, some wanted for murder. They go across the south border, and if you think all of them are poor hard working strawberry picking farm hands, you can think again ... drug smuggling is up ... TB is up (these people have not had any health screening, so we don't know what diseases are brought in ... personally I prefer not to be served in a restaurant by a server who's hacking TB all over my lunch ...), and there is a real risk of terrorists entering the country ... we don't know if they are even here now, and unless we secure the borders, we will never know ... until the next 9/11 ... this really has nothing to do with nationality or race, it has to do with border enforcement! Name ONE other country where you can come and go as you please, no papers, no passports ... sad world for sure, but that is the reality! And then the little matter of the LEGAL immigrants, who are screened, who are checked for income level, health, crime, you name it ... why should they be pushed off the ladder? It is not difficult to apply for entry to the U.S. ... people do it all the time ... why should we make an exception for ANYONE streaming over our southern border? Or our northern border for that matter?

With all due respect, you are wrong. Do a little reading on the topic and you will find that the detriment the economy, the increase in crime, and the cost to the citizens is astronomical. Don't believe me? http://www.illegalaliens.us/attrition.htm

Amazing. I had no idea it was this bad until recently.

Also, it is absurd to think that a person who deliberately disobeys the laws of a country to join it will then suddenly change and start respecting the laws they have already broken. This nation was a nation of immigrants and castaways, but they came here to form a collective partnership and better their lives. They did not go to an already existing company, break their laws, and then detriment the society they desired to join. A little different, wouldn't you say?

Illegal immigrants from any country are a big deal if you are a taxpayer, especially in the state of California. You are paying taxes to educate and cover the health expenses of people who don't contribute to either system. In my city, the cost to educate a child is about $40 a day. If you are a high school graduate and don't plan on going to college, you are competing with illegal immigrants who will work tax free at any job you want which costs the business less and makes you less desirable. Out here they have driven down wages in the trades that used to be held by tax paying, middle class Americans. The question is, how much are you willing to be taxed to pay for their health care and education while our own citizens can't get the same services for free?

I think people want to make it a big deal out of it when their are MORE important issues to worry about and yes I agree watch the borders more deport the illegal immigrants that commit the big crimes. But let the hard working illegal immigrant that wants to become a citizen of this country STAY!! all they did was come into this country without papers. that's it why are people making a big deal out of it? use common sense people you can't deport ALL illegal immigrants. we might as well stop being so damn ignorant and let the ones that deserve to be here stay here and lets move on to the next problem.cuz I'm tired of hearing all the hate on a subject that this country can not win on. Just like underage drinking and drug use you CAN'T stop it, the same with illegal immigration you can't stop it completely you might as well open up your eyes and compromise!!!

I actual do not have a difficulty with them. All I see are problematical operating people. that's more desirable than i'm able to assert about some people. people get so dissatisfied about those so called "unlawful" immigrants. Why? What makes you so legal? only because you've been born the following? This us of a replaced into depending through those who got here visiting the following uninvited. They stole this land from the interior of sight community. i imagine that is the most suitable in hypocrisy that we now imagine that is incorrect for people to come back the following at the same time as that's strictly what people did in the starting up. Is that straightforward? You gain what you sow. only because the Europeans invaded this land, we've Mexicans invading it now. How is this unjust? that is the chickens coming domicile to roost. The humorous component is, diverse Mexicans have Indian blood, so that is installation that they are "coming domicile."

The Illegal Immigrant is only an issue if you make it an issue. I mean if we really think about it we're all here illegally, in some form or another, and we're all immigrants. Some where along the line our ancestors mated with other nationalities. We all just need to try and get along and stick to the real issues, who is really a threat to our country. "Really A Threat"

YES,it's a BIG deal!!!!!!!!!! As long as they are coming here ILLEGALLY!!! If they get by with breaking ONE law, what about the next time??!!!

And,it's NOT just one or two coming over here, we already have 11-20 million here, and if they are given amnesty, they would be allowed to bring all their relatives, which would INCREASE the amount of foreigners to about 50 MILLION or more!!!!! We are LOSING our farmland, just where do you suppose we are going to get enough food to feed all these EXTRA millions of people??!! And the WATER??!

It is a big deal if they come in illegal. I know they do a lot of the work Americans do not want to do, but if they are illegal, that means they do pay taxes, and the company that hires them does not pay taxes matching their wages. If you consider the millions of illegal immigrants we have, it probably is enough to make a substantial dent into the federal deficient.

The same people also forget that half the country was taken from Mexico in 1845. The Mexicans are just taking it back in a more civil manner.
