It wourks, and it's not a bad soup, but you will get bored of it quickly, if you do it more than a week or so. Typically, you will loose about 5-7lbs a week, but you will gain it back rather quickly, once you are off it. That's been my experience, as well as all those I know who have tried it. Good diet to loose a few quick lbs for a special event, though, but be warned; they will come back!

Any diet that restricts you caloric intake, such as a grapefruit diet, a juice diet, or a cabbage soup died, will cause you to drop pounds.
However. There are risks involved. While a short term diet of this kind might help boost your incentive to lose more weight by giving you such rapid results, continuing for a long period of time, (longer than a week or two) has negative health factors.
You will not be gaining all the vitamins and minerals that you body needs, and you will be building up an abundance of whatever is in the diet. Salt or phosphorous or whatever.
Also, any rapid weight loss runs the highest risk for rapid regain.
your best bet it so eat a healthy variety of foods in appropriate amounts, get a good amount of exercise, (just walking a couple miles a day is great for the beginning... this is like walking the mall twice, or both floors... anyone can do that.) and allowing weight to naturally come down. This way you will be creating a new lifestyle that will allow you to keep the weight off, plus allowing your body to do it in a safe way, without losing muscle mass or mineral content.

I've tried cabbage soup. It's kinda gross and tasteless. But anyway, the best 'diet' you should do is not a diet at all. Just eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly. That is the best, healthiest and safest way to lose wait. Learn about the food you're eating too. That really helped me eat healthier. I'm a culinary management student by they way.

Hi: Yes and no. I have followed it to the letter and it works. Make a good soup including tomato or V8 juice and some herbs and spices. I am trying to encorporate vegetable and bean soup into my routine. I do believe you can lose weight by eating a vegetable or cabbage soup daily. but the soup has to taste good.Eat beries, nuts, yogurt and lean meat. Good food doesn't make you fat, but fast food can, and fast!

Yes. Both my daughter and I (now we are both over thirty-five) have used the diet on several occasions to lose weight quickly. It is great! Just do not stay on it too long at a time. Lose some weight - maintain the loss for a few weeks - then go back on it again. Otherwise, the weight you lose will come right back on.
Good luck!!

I didn't lose any weight either because I didn't eat the fruits and veggies you're supposed to eat along with it so I fainted after like 4 days. You gotta follow it to a T. And I didn't think it tasted that good either. What finally worked was just a low calorie, low fat diet, and excersise. Its true what they say that's the only thing that really works.

I can't imagine this is good for your kidneys at all. But stay hyrdated if you do choose to do the diet, and stock up on TP.
Also expect a drop in blood sugar and overall energy, you will be depleting your system of needed nutrients. Naturally, you will feel a little lethargic.

Barf barf barf... You can eat as much of that soup as you want... but I tell ya after the 3rd or 4th day - It is totally gross - I got so sick of it . One of the days was a banana day. Eat a ton of them and soup only. It was horrible.
I guess to cleanse your body of toxins - it may be useful but for losing weight - it's better to just get into a good routine with every day normal eating habits that are conducive to being thin.
Good luck
