Hi - I believe that the person with the pet wants to meet another person with a pet (or several). You may not want to meet someone if you love animals and they hate them. It could weed out those who don't have that in common with you. Pets are an important part of some people's lives.

You've never heard that pets and their owners tend to resemble each other? Some people look so much like their pets, I'm sure they simply got the photos mixed up.
