There ya go!! problem solved - you're burning calories & getting aerobic activity in there, which is what the experts say we have to do in order to stay fit - so what's the problem - quick bursts of activity versus long haul - I say fit it in however you can & leave it at that. Besides, they show so many commercials on tv these days that you are bound to be getting plenty of exercise!!!! Good for you!

You can get the best of both worlds by watching TV and running at the same time. My gym has treadmills with TVs, bikes with TVs, elliptical with TVs. You can simply buy a treadmill if you must stay at your house.

To burn the same number of calories as one TV show, we would need to know how many times you run (how many commercials). If you run 100 times per night but would only run 20 minutes if you skipped a TV show, you may burn more the commercial route.

Buy a recumbant bike, pop it right in the living room in front of your TV. All it takes is some assembly, and hauling it home from the store.

You can pedal away for hours while not missing any tube and burning calories at the same time. They even come with a cupholder for your budweiser and a mag. rack for your newspaper or porn mag. Click the link below for a basic Marcy Fitness model.

You can always join a gym. The majority of gyms now have tv or tvs on each machine. Or you can run in place while watchin tv at home if you don't have a treadmill

You need to get your heart rate up for about twenty minutes and then slowly cool down. I like TV, too. Here is what you do. Make out a schedule that allows some TV and designs a specific schedule to allow you time to do errands, chores and exercise at certain times. Then stick to the schedule just like the programs on the tube...slowly ween yourself off of watching so much on the boob tube. Good luck!

Get a treadmill and watch TV while you run. My daughter gets up at 4 AM in the morning to use the treadmill and watches the news while she runs!

It will help a little but just get tivo/dvr and that way you can have your cake and eat it too. I tape everything I like during the week and watch it on the weekend. That way I can work out during the week and do other stuff I need to get done without worrying about missing my shows. You can always work out during the shows too but, that's no fun.

Why can't you just turn off the TV and get out and enjoy the world?
