After having major surgery to extract your teeth the thought of dentures can be a pretty scary and overwhelming dose of reality. This is a big change for you and there is nothing wrong with easing into it gradually so that you are comfortable and you take the control back over when how and why you utilize the dentures. It is your choice, don't let it frighten you, you did the hardest part already!

Hey Dee,

I think you scared because you think people are going to be staring at your mouth, but that's okay honey you smile yourself right back into the person you use to be!! Remember God is smiling at you so say cheeses right back. Remember your blessing ,someone else can't afford new dentures!!!

Its different to have teeth that aren't your own. I think it would make me feel like i failed at taking care of my teeth. Next step, Take care of the dentures....Just wear them around home when no one is around until you feel comfortable to talk to others and eat with them.

because dentures suck, they hurt, they are a ***** to clean, and then there is the whole lossing your teeth thing. But it will be alright, atleast you will have teeth so you can eat. Good luck.

you didn't say if you were without teeth or if so, for what length of time, that maybe the possible reason. I say put them in and you will get used to having them before long, I'm sure you will look great!!

Scared they'll fall out. Scared you'll swallow them accidentally?
