I'm a little 2 old 4 them 2. I'm already in high school. Most people have already had them. Do they hurt as bad as I've heard they do? Do people make fun of u? Can u cover them up w/ a mouthguard or something?

braces aren't so bad. i just got mine in november and i'm 16. i think it's better late than never. in terms of pain, it really depends. i only have mine on top so the pain isn't as bad as it could. but the only pain i ever really feel is when i got to my orthodontist and he changes the wire. so far no one's made fun of me. i mean let's be serious, we're a bit too old. don't bother hiding them you won't have them forever.

I don't think braces are that bad as people say they are. They are so common now that people won't really make fun of you. They don't hurt all the time either. They hurt like an hour after I had them put on since my teeth weren't used to the pressure. Well they hurt like for 2 days but i would take tylenol or advil and it wouldn't bother me as much. then as time goes on you will get used to them and they won't hurt at all. Only sometimes when they get tightened. and I'm not sure if you can cover them up because i never tried to.

I'm 22 years old and about to get them for the 2nd time in my lifetime, and nobody is making fun of me. Now if you got a mouthguard, people would make fun of you. They're not that bad. They do hurt, but only for the first couple of days, like when you get them on, and then after your monthly appointments to get them tightened. They hurt for a couple of days after that. I'm really not dreading getting them on again. I'm getting them so that they can remove a portion of my jaw, so the braces, truly not the worst part. But I would honestly be surprised if anyone made fun of you.

Hey ! The first day you get your braces it won't hurt that bad , but that nite take a pain killer because it always hurts worse the 2nd day. People won't make fun of you because almost everyone has them, don't try to cover them up. think of braces as an accessory because you get cool colored bands and you choose what you want for colors !!! It might hurt some ( it's really not that bad ) but you end up looking so great with straight teeth !!! Good luck !!!!

They're hurt for the first few days, but you'll get used to them. A lot of people get them, its not too bad.

You're supposed to wear a mouthguard when you play sports and things (at least I was told to) but I wouldn't recommend it for all the time.

If you're really afraid of what they will look like, they make clear ones now. You can barely seem them unless you're really looking.

Braces arn't as bad as It sounds. I had them for 4 years. I was 16 when I got them. They don't hert you. The only thing your going to feel is them putting the brace on your teeth. It not that bad. I really don't think others will bother you about having them. Just think it will help make you teeth look better in the long run. I am glad my parents did talk me in to getting them. I was agenst it at first. It dosn't hurt to do something that will be benificial in the end. Good luck. I hope they help you as it did for me.

they aren't comfortable. get clear braces, they're way less noticeable. would you rather people make fun of your crooked teeth (if that's your problem)? besides it just shows that you care about your appearance. your teeth will look awesome once it's all done & over with.
