My 10Th birthday. It was a 7 day cruise, to Grand Cayman,Mexico, and Jamaica. It was amazing. I had done so many things i had never done before. I climbed a waterfall and i saw whales in their natural habitat. I braided my hair. I also gained 10 pounds.LOL. I tasted a pina colada for the first time and had about 4 a day. That's why i gained weight. I met this amazing guy.mom would let me walk around the ship myself and do whatever i liked and that was pretty cool. I went to a club for the first time. I also got sea-sick for the first time too. I went to a ball. Oh, it was just breath-taking seeing the stars at night. I was 10 but i felt 15. :) Good times. I'd do it again in a heart beat!

Tubing on the Guadalupe River near New Braunfels, TX when I was 12. It was a family thing, but the river is a great equalizer between adults and children. It could alternate from thrilling to relaxing from one moment to the next.
And my dad was alive then.

When I was little My friends and I used to go to the local swimming pool. We would buy plain m&m's from the stand and set them on your towels for a good 20 min on a warm day, then we would eat them.. They are so good melted.

spending time at the pool while my parents would play tennis or golf...
riding around town in mom's MGB (well before child seats, how DID we survive?) with the top down and "wings" cranked up loud on the radio...
catching fireflies at the lake cabin...
riding bikes around the neighborhood until the streetlights came on. EVERYONE'S curfew back then...

Most definetely camping with my family. We used to go every summer to different campsites in New York where I am from and I met so many friends from so many different places. Also there is something about sleeping and cooking and eating outside. It is so fun, relaxing, and delicious.

Going briarberry picking with my family... It was a feast for the senses... heat and shade, the colors, the sensations, and finally, the taste of Mama's briarberry pudding with butter sauce!
(They call them blackberries these days.)
