What force and strength
can not get through,
I with a gentle touch can do,
and many in the streets would stand,
were I not as a friend in hand. who am i??

Compassion. I say this because you can never force someone to think or behave well. But with compassion, you can "get through" to them and they sometimes start acting better.
Also, many people would stand homeless in the streets if it weren't for others having compassion on them (to help them get a place to stay).
