probably so...It is sucking on your skin looking for its mothers milk. Just make sure it is getting plenty of nutriton from kitten food and it will grow out of it

To your little kittie, you are like her new mommy. She thinks your skin is her mothers nipple. Your kitten needs bottle fed! this is very serious. You should not take a kitten away from its mother until they are like 10-14 weeks old. They still nurse for the first 2 monthes of there lives. I feel so sorry for this kitten and she was taken away to young. way to young. she could end up dying because of it! You need to start bottle feeding her every 2 hours or more! Good luck and if you know the mommy kittie, give the kitten back until she is much older.

Yes you are the new mom, Kittens will grow close to the people that take care of them the most. We had a male cat that acted like a mom, and would allow our kittens, which were from him, suckle on his stomach like he was the mom. The kitten is only looking for milk, so when he does this he is hungry, he sleeps by your beck because it is warm.

I'm surprised that you have a 5 week old kitten. They usually don't wean off until 6 weeks. Male kittens are particularly fond of nursing, and I've had big grown tom cats that still liked to suckle on things like the nubs on a chenille bedspread etc. You little kitten still wants to nurse. It wants your body warmth and all the things little kittens need at such a young age. You ARE it's new mommy...awww...isn't that cute?

Yes, my kittens did that. Now they are over 3 months and are still doing it! It was taken away from its mother WAY too early. Normally they should be taken at about 8-11 weeks old.

AT five weeks it was not ready to be separated from the mother yet.
If you like you can still give it milk in a small amount, with it's food.
And I always felt that having a cat that likes to cuddle was half the fun, that and all the mice they bring you as a present.

Thats so cute! Its probably trying to nurse off of you. It was seperated from its mom way to soon! It thinks that you are its mother. Poor little thing.

yes, it is probably doing what it would do with its mother. Kittens usually aren't separated from their mother until at least 6 weeks.

to an extent, yes. You are it's surrogate mom. You might want to go to a pet store and get a bottle. They have them for baby animals, and special formula too. You don't want it to keep doing this, because it will become a habit.
