Based on what is known about direct physical effects of marijuana and tobacco smoking, the answer is Yes, cigarettes are more harmful.
However, it is not well known whether an average marijuana user is likely to progress to more dangerous drugs like alcohol, cocaine, opiates etc.

Yes, but then I haven't studied the long-term effects of marijuana, either. I HAVE, however, been a smoker for over half my life (and I am YOUNG), and to be quite honest, I don't dig it.
I never really thought of marijuana as harmful, except for the time I went to school high & fell asleep in class (never did it again). I just never really liked the fuzzy feeling. At least not since I outgrew it.

they are both addictive. taken in big amounts can ruin your health.
in my opinion, marijuana is more harmful than cigarettes because the side effects of a joint like hallicucinations can put oneself in harms way.

But I will say this: Bob Marley died of lung cancer, and he never smoked a TOBACCO product in his life.

I think cigs are much more harmful than pot. Pot doesn't cause cancer and emphysema like cigs do. It's a shame cigs are legal bc it is driving up healthcare costs and killing tons of people.
