Listen i'm tired of people not requesting an IOU note when they are lending money. This will only come back to bite you in the whatsis especially if you are in a boy-girl friend relationship. Some people are just opportunists and in that case you need to say no to a loan. I think you are within your right to ask for the return of your loan. A gentle reminder should suffice, don't state how long it's been since the loan was given. If that does'nt work get all ghetto and yell, " you better hand over my money you freeloading heifer" in which case you'll you'll probably lose your mooching girlfriend. Goodluck

If she took a loan from you and promised to pay it back, she should do just that. You say you don't want to create a bad impression on her...but what about the bad impression SHE is givng YOU? She has put you in a position where you have to ask for your own money back, and that is just not fair. Ask for it back, don't loan to her again. She should offer you interest since the loan is late, but I bet she won't. This is a warning signal for you not to loan to her again. Also, if she won't repay, mention small claims court...I bet she coughs it up fast, but don't be surprised if she says goodbye.

Yes, your girlfriend TOOK a loan from you. Was it against your will? Or, did you GIVE a loan to her?
I guess it depends on whether you value the relationship more than the money, or vice-versa, as to whether you should decide to ask for the money back or not. (Did I type that correctly?)
If the money is important to you, ask for it back. If it is a trust issue, then ask for it back. If it could cause you to lose her as a girlfriend, she wasn't good for you anyway, so ask for it back. If she matters more than the money, don't ask for it back.

It's hard where you're standing. Some people are too sensitive. I have always said, "when you lend out money, don't expect to get it back." Ask yourself, "do I have to have it back, do I need it for anything?" If you have to pay off a bill or something, maybe you should hint it to her. Or ask her the most loving way. Good luck

Just say "I'm not trying to get you mad or anything, but I just want to know if you remember you borrowed some money from me a few months back?" See how she reacts. She may have forgotten. If she remembers, just tell her politely that you need it to pay something. She should be ok with that. If she gets mad about it, it's better to learn what she is really like. Then it's all up to you.

Can you say dead beat. She's taking advantage of you. Do not let her- you will regret it if you do.
It has been my experience that when I loan $$$ to friends that I have to hound them to get it back. My policy: No collateral, no loan. I charge interest too.
Remind her that it was a loan, not a gift and that you want it back.

Ugh sticky situation. Better now than ever. If she's a good girlfriend she'll understand that she did say she would repay you. It's best to set boundaries now than later because it just gets stickier if she knows she can do that without you expecting her to keep her word and follow through with promises.

Depends on how much it is...
Just ask to borrow some money from her, and tell her you`ll pay in a week... What goes around comes around..hehe
