If your dog is a male, you're better off getting a female.. male dogs in the same territory tend to be dominant and will fight for that alpha role.. A male and female get along much better because in a pack there would be an alpha male and female.. Hense no fighting for lead role. Even if the male you get is a puppy, when he grows into maturity there may still be conflict with who's in charge.. And your current bully won't likely back down to a younger and newer member of your "pack". I owned bulldogs for a long time and we had a female around 6 years old.. Very submissive dog.. We brought in a puppy of the same sex as a foster, which when they fell in love with eachother we decided to keep.. When the puppy reached maturity they started fighting for that alpha role.. It wasn't just a scrap now and again, it was a fight to the death. We did everything we could to get them to get along and NOTHING worked... We've had many similar cases with people who bring their dogs to our veterinary clinic... Its almost always better to get dogs of opposite sexes.

Getting a puppy while the male is that young will probably work fine. Older dogs usually do fine unless they are terriers, or a very possessive breed English bulldogs are pretty easy going where other dogs are concerned

it all depends on the dog! does the dog get along with any other dogs, and will it be a puppy.... dogs are less teratrorial with puppys, but u may exsperiance food problems if you put thier dishes to close so keep them in a diffrent area of the room so there is no aggrestion issue... I had this issue my self a few years back when i had an older female dog and got a younger one, just keep thier food seprate until they are comftable with each other.

I have an english bulldog, and they are great. I think they would be fine togethor. The only way my dog would hurt anything is by pure clumsiness

Depends on the dogs. Like people, they can either like each other or hate each other on sight. Get a book on animal behavior for tips on introducing the two of them.

You might be ok because he isnt that old but a female would make a better companion and you would have less problems with them not getting along : )

If you got him fixed(if you don't want puppies) and get a female it would be easier so he doesn't get jealous
