I have been concerned about this issue for 20+ years myself, especially the lack of concern of our "elected officials". So, why now? Remember, the key words are "illegal and unlawful". Maybe the people in charge of this issue are a little over-educated, and lack some common sense.

We were duped into thinking "migrant workers" came here during harvest and went back afterwards. That, as we have found out recently, was NOT the case. They DIDN'T go back, they stayed and abused our welfare systems, brought in extended family members and produced their 'anchor babies'. They settled in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. The rest of the USA was not aware of it until the media brought it to our attention. Then we started noticing the subtle changes to our own cities, towns and communities. Some of us have started paying attention. Some refuse to take their heads out of their butts and really see what is going on under their very noses.

It has always been a problem, Politicians have been talking about this for years, the only diffrence now is more Americans are without work and things keep getting harder in this country and they know the reason for this is because of illegal aliens draining the system and taking there jobs, so they reached there point where they cant handle it anymore and began to threaten there politicians that if they dont stop illegal immigration then they will not get there vote next election

You're right, this HAS been going on for too many years now!!! I've talked about this situation and tried to get something done about for a long time. Living in Arizona,i have SEEN the problems caused by illegals!!! Some of our hospitals are going under!! A lot of doctors are refusing to work the e.r.'s,because of so MANY illegals coming here for treatment, then NOT paying their bills!!! This COST gets passed on to the TAXPAYERS!!!! Our welfare system is overburdened to the point that our state is GOING BROKE because of all the ILLEGALS we have here!!!!!!!!!!!

Then, we have the drug runners, the gang bangers (i think it should be OPEN SEASON on gangbangers!!) the child molesters, murderers and perverts that sneak across over here too!!

The ONLY good thing illegals did with their little "marches",was WAKE UP a lot of Americans to the fact of what is happening in this country!!!!!!!!!!!! People who were not directly involved, had NO IDEA how BAD the situation was with illeglals, but NOW they do!!!

Between the news media and elections coming in November, this has become a hot issue. Also, Latinos began bringing negative attention to themselves which has united most Americans to address immigration.

I believe that 9/11 is just an excuse to bring this issue to the forefront. If it was 9/11, then why wasn't it addresses on 9/12?

Increase in terrorism would be the obvious answer. For years, big business has had no complaint because they have been getting cheap labor. The people that it affects the most are the ones who can't find work because illegal aliens are taking their jobs. Typically, the opinions of poor people are not heard by our money oriented political system. I say deport them all that can't speak English and let them go through the proper channels if they want to become a citizen.

he will in all likelihood no longer get the max. Now there is the reasoning that united statesa. shouldn't help him so he could purely be deported. needless to say some thing like this occurred 2 circumstances earlier as he became unfastened to return back a third time. in the event that they simply deported him returned he might purely come back. So he might desire to easily try this with no lead to sight so there may well be no actual repurcussions for blatantly floughting the regulation....... basically a hassle each few years. So yea, a solid stint in reformatory is the only answer. My wager he will do purely his time, get deported and return returned.

You answered your own question, didn't you?

"After years and years of illegal immigration and unlawful entry into the US..."

We are pretty tolerant. We didn't say much until the illegals got in our face with their 'march' on the first, and basically said "Screw you!"

So we said, "Enough." You will be seeing more of this as a result.

Houston - US immigration officers arrested more than 2,100 illegal immigrants, including alleged gang members and fugitives, in a nationwide sweep, the Department of Homeland Security said Thursday.

Probably it's an issue now because the "common man" has had enough and with all the downturn in the economy and such they're finally feeling the pinch and want things to change.

It's always easy to look the other way when things are going great.

We've always been told it wasn't a problem.

Now it is out of hand with hospitals going broke, welfare overworked, neighborhoods being plundered, abundance of new licensee, overpopulation, crimes being committed by those who were stopped before, no jobs for the teens, right to work law (CA), etc..

Somebody finally noticed and it wasn't a politician I bet! They want their vote so bad they allowed it to continue.

I should shut up now as it is becoming gossip!

25-30% of prisoners in jail are illegal immigrants
we spend approx. 55,000 dollars a year on every illegal immigrant in tax money...this aint counting the babies they have, since they are citizens by birth if born in usa..
our politicians are vote pandering and awfully quiet on the issue...they think they know better than the public and are hoping we forget about this...

enforce the law..dont change it...
