I talked to this guy for 2 years online before we met in person. Now a year and a half later, we're still together and going strong. Does anyone have any fascinating stories about online relationships? Anyone marry their online sweetheart?

i met my live-in boyfriend of a year online. we met on a local dating website. when we first 'met' each other online, i wanted to meet in person right away, but he wanted to wait. although it doesn't seem like that long now, it seemed like forever then. (we waited 2 weeks before meeting in person). we dated for a few months. we went to a movie and dinner every friday night. we went to local baseball games, shopping, whatever.. yes, that sounds boring, but we're boring people (but happy).. since we're people of set routines, we just kinda ended up living together. now we live happily together with our dogs :)

I did, just over 3 years ago, we talked online in a chatroom because I was bored and so was he, neither of us were looking for a relationship, we talked for a bit, then exchanged phone numbers because it was cheaper (we were using WAP) We called and texted for about a month and then when he got a day off work he came (100 miles) to see me, we had a lovely time, spent a year either him coming to me or me going to him then he asked me to move in with him and we've lived together 2 years now :)

I met my late husband online. It was a personal ad on Excite. He wrote me everyday for almost two months and then I met him and it was really love at first sight. He had been so honest with me that I was not dissappointed. He asked me to marry him the first night we were together We were married on October 31, 2004. He died four years to the day after we met but we had four wonderful years that I would not trade for anything in the world.

um... yeh i think i met my online love but in reality and islamically it was wrong way to go about finding a spouse or partner unless the mehraam of person allows her and him to.
and i relised if i did marry him that relationship would have started in disobedince to allah and therefore it will be a rare chance for it to work out in the long run, we tend to see majority of love marriages fail and there are 1 or 2 rare cases that work as compared to arranged tend to be more strong,so i am going to find my spouse the halal way. and i have read and seen many muslim girls and guy have done this sort of thing and it really didnt work out.
i think people are pressured to have sex or bf and gf from very young age influenced by friends,tv,music,magazines etc.

Not me, but my aunt did. She met her husband on line because they live in a different city. They met for the first time when he visited her in her hometown 6 months after the first chat.
They got married 1 year later and still are.

I met my present day girfriend on line, and that's up to now it type of feels to be the most appropriate courting i have ever been area of. We met on a courting web site, and we were both very careful about agreeing to satisfy all people, so we talked for months in the previous we met.

Yes and it is the best thing that ever could have happened to me, I moved 200 miles to be with her and it's a wonderful relationship!There's work, but it's so worth it. I was one of the ones that was very against on line dating, because of the risk involved, but I stepped out on faith, chose wisely, never put my guard down, asked all difficult questions in tons of different ways, and she never waivered. i was on myspace and i got messaged by this boy.. we talked a few times on online over msn and decided together for a meeting.. we went out for a coffee.. dinner.. a movie.. went and had a few beers and played some pool.. we agreed to meet again.. and we hung out a few more times and then he asked me to be his gf.. :) and we have been more or less inserperable since.. we now have been together for about a year and half.. we have our own place.. 3 rabbits my cat and a dog :) i look forward to spending the rest of my life with him :)

I met my current boyfriend only. We still live in different places but we're working that out. If it doesn't work that's sad but at least we tried. We are best friends so either way I'll never regret it.
