Both manufacturers make great airplanes. In terms of fewer crashes, that is because there are fewer Airbus aircraft flying. Airbus is a younger company so they have not been making airplanes as long as Boeing. Also some of the crashes you read about involving Boeing aircraft happen in third world countries who operate older Boeing aircraft and spend less money on maintenance. They say over 50% of aircraft accidents are attributed to human error and that less than 10% is due to the structural soundness of the aircraft.
As for more space on an Airbus, the A320 is wider than the Boeing 737. But ultimately it is the airline that sets the seat pitch as to how far apart the seats will be from each other.
My edge still goes to Boeing. I like the new aircraft they are coming out with such as the 787 and 747-8 which are more fuel efficient.

My vote goes to boeing.
The airbus is like a cheap car, works fine for a while, then becomes a major expense. Better yet, compare it to some of those computer printers out there... give them the printer and make your money off the ink.
The space issue has nothing to do with Boeing or airbus, that is the customer's (airline's) choice. How much room you have depends on what size and how many seats they wish to cram in.
As far as crashes, check how many were mechanical and how many were human error. I think you will find that both have a good safety record.
As for that overgrown A380... bigger isn't always better. They can't pay me enough to ride that over weight cattle car.

(1) How many Boeing aircraft have had the vertical stabs snap off in flight? (0) How many AB's? (1, now there's a special directive for pilot's not to deflect the rudder so many degrees!?)DESIGN FLAW
(2) Airbus has fly-by wire only flight control systems. Boeing, McDonnell Douglas(now Boeing) has cable backup. Total electrical failure, which plane YOU want to be on? Tuna can? I'll take a 777 over a 340 anyday. The first 747's are still in service 40 years later. Over engineered American tanks kick Frog junk anyday.

I like both, but I prefer Boeing.
The OP says that they have least crashes, but that is not dependant on the plane, but the airline and pilot. Also, you might be right on moe space, maybe you were on a widebody Airbus, and a narrowbody Boeing?
I'd prefer to ride on a Boeing long haul, and maybe Airbus short-haul, but maybe thats because typically US Airlines Airbus's are newer than their Boeings...
And lastly, I must admit, the new A380 is cool, but rather ugly on the outside, nothing beats the B747 IMHO

Well, I'll go with both Boeing and Airbus. One reason is that Airbus is developing newer generation of technologies in its aerial manufacturer and another reason is that Boeing company are experienced with its making and they are American made (compare to the Airbus they're Britain's) which also is fascinating.

Look this has been a question on the net for a long time. But in my view I think Boeing has a good aircraft (777-200LR) and I think Airbus has a good aircraft (340-600)

They only have less crashes because there are fewer of them flying!
And seating space depends on which plane and what class you are flying.
I've flown in both and wasn't impressed by airbus.
I go with Boeing.
